Siobhan was bored of waiting for classes to start. She had been to all the welcome events met plenty of random people and some not so random. Stuck in her room she had sung along to all her favourite songs, practiced her violin a little and watched a movie.

Yawning she flipped her class booklet open and looked over the location of her lessons. Deciding to explore a bit she pulled on a jacket, her red DMs and left her room and the building.

It was a tad gloomy outside, though she rather liked it. It made her want to go and recite Shakespeare out in the middle of the field.
"Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow." She said quietly to herself as she pulled open the door to the studio building.

Aya was dancing around her performing arts studio, singing a random pop song that had popped into her head as she strung up colorful lights all around the room. Attempting to reach a particularly high hook that Kyo had set in the wall for her, she gave an exasperated sigh and glared at the offending hook as it mocked her height disability. Placing a hand on one hip, she chewed on her bright crimson lip for a moment, then attempted to make the hook by jumping up against the wall, just barely missing her target. Landing with an undignified grunt, she tried once more.

Sib heard the thud as Aya landed on the floor from the hallway. She had been looking at extremely dated advertisements for plays that the university was putting on. It did not seem very promising.

Walking in the direction of the thud she peered through the window and watched the rather short, colourful woman trying to hand something up.
She smirked a bit and glanced around the large room before opening the door.
"Would you like a hand?" She asked, staning in the doorway and smiling

She had just barely missed it that time, her fingertip had brushed the bottom of the hook. Landing again, she exhaled in a frustrated puff of air, her bleached bangs flying off her forehead. At the unexpected voice, Aya spun around and gave the young girl standing in the doorway a quick once over. Smiling brightly, she swept her hair out of her face and held the string of lights out.

"Please? I think my husband forgot that he is taller than me," she smirked, glaring at the hook again.

"I am Aya Yamashita," she continued, looking back at the girl with another bright smile. "Drama professor extraordinaire," she smirked with a little flourish added to her small bow.

"Siobhan Casey." Sib said, returning the woman's grin. It was extremely hard not to. "Violinist and Wanabe extraordinaire." She returned the florished bow and walked over to the lights, taking the wire and hanging it over the hook for the short woman.

"I like what you've done with this place. I remember it looking totally redundant in the prospectus."

Aya gave Sib a slightly envious glance as she hung the string with ease, but her smile never faltered. She liked this girl instantly. She reminded her of herself in the ease of her manner. She was obviously not one to follow the mindless drones of the masses.

Aya glanced around the outlandishly decorated room and beamed at Sib's compliment.
"Thank you. I had thought the same thing really. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this blank canvas," she grinned and looked back at the girl. "For being such a prestigious institute, they sure fail in enriching the arts. But all that's going to change," she said with a decisive nod.

"So Miss. Casey, what brought you wandering into my domain and could I possibly tempt you into becoming a permanent fixture in it?" she grinned and winked as she moved to plug the end of the lights into the wall.

"I think I already am." Sib said watching as the coloured lights illuminated casting their light across the wall. "I'm majoring in performing arts." She looked around her at the viberant room and smiled. "I'm not one of these fame kids I've seen on the fresher register though. I transfered from Trinity college where I was studying music ... so I hope you can whip me into shape."

Aya's eyes visibly lit up when Sib divulged her major. She almost started to do a little dance, but stopped herself. That would be both immature and unprofessional, but she was still excited none the less. She honestly didn't care if her students were brilliant actors or not, but it was nice to have a few that were serious about the classes and not just taking them to fullfill certain credits.
Aya smirked and waved off Sib's comment about the freshman register. Anyone and everyone was welcome, and already her mind was starting to go into second gear.

"Music?" she repeated, bouncing a little on the balls of her bared feet. That's right, she had said violinist. "Perfect really. I love bringing in all aspects of the arts, so I'm certain whiping you into shape will be quite easy," she grinned and winked.

"Where is Trinity College?" she asked, moving around again to continue putting things in order.

Sib watched Aya as she talked, you could almost see the cogs spinning in her mind.
"It's in Dublin, Ireland." She said walking across the room to take a closer look at some of the items that lay around the place. "But I was born and raised in Dublin, so I got bored. Japan seemed like a much bigger adventure."

She smiled warmly and picked up a crown that sat on a table.
"I'm mostly interested in stage acting." She said as she looked at the fake jewels on the crown. "It's so much more raw and interesting. Have you performed a lot?" She continued, turning around to face her new teacher.

Brilliant. She loved Sib's desire for adventure and knew she had found an ally in the drab sameness of the school. She watched her inspect the crown and plopped down on the floor with a box full of mismatched files of scripts for plays and exercises.

"I have," she beamed, rifling around the box. "I went to university in California. My degree is in performing arts from UCLA. I did loads of plays there, both acting and directing and I even attached myself to a small local troupe. It was loads of fun. Have you done much performing?" she asked glancing up as she pulled a heavy file into her lap.

Sib smiled and walked across the room to join Aya on the floor.
"Sure I have. In folk bands when I was young, my violin in recitals, I've fronted a band." She smiled and watched Aya look through the box. "Mostly music, I've done school plays, but they were mostly musicals."

She fell silent for a moment and picked at her scarlet nail varnish.
"What brought you back to Japan?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 19, 2006 5:32 am

"Perfect," she smiled as Sib joined her on the floor. "You will definitely get a chance to exercise your musical abilities, but I will insist you expand your horizons to sample all forms of theater," she smiled, knowing full well that that was what Sib was most likely craving anyways. Most true performers knew the importance of exploring all avenues of the arts in order to perfect them. As she began sifting through and organizing the file, she smiled and glanced up at Sib's question.

"What brought me back..." she repeated thoughtfully. It was almost hard to remember why, but she had been more than glad that she had. "I missed my family and my culture and I knew that Japan needed me," she winked. "Someone has to be around to shake things up. How are you liking Japan so far?" she asked.

Sib laughed at her words and nodded in agreement.
"That they do." She said with a grin. "I love it, especially Tokyo, it's like the perfect city for those who can't sit still. So much to do and see."

She smiled and looked around again. This was definitely going to be a lot of fun.
"A bit of a personal question, you said you're married? Did you come here together?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 19, 2006 5:55 am

Aya glanced up at Sib's opening statement and again her eyes lit up as her absolute favorite subject was brought up.
"We did," she grinned, setting the organized file to the side and grabbing another out of the box. "He's in the athletic department and the rugby supervisor. You'll probably see him around here if you're going to be taking these classes. He's quite the good little helper," she smirked and winked.

"Ahh a marital slave." She laughed guessing that a lot of the DIY in the room was the product of her husbands hard work.

"You know, I think this place is going to take a lot of getting used to, the university I mean. I met one nice girls though moth people seem to be a bit precious in their attitudes, a bit ... me, me, me. If you get what I mean?"
