Well these days 512MB of ram is not cutting it anymore. Sites are becoming more and more graphic consuming and they require at lot more memory from the user part to run efficiently. Not to mention games now demand the MINIMUM of 1gb of ram. If anything I say go up to 2gb of RAM because that will last you for about another 4 years or so if your lucky. There is 4gb of ram but its not necessary for now but who knows seeing how technology is evolving ever so quickly. If any ram where to bought it should be bought on newegg.com and get these if they comply with your computer that is. Always be sure to check your specs before you buy any new hard ware for it same goes for software. BTw I know the ones mentioned above are a tad pricey but if you look at the clock speeds they are really good. Btw DDR400 is almost standard now on your rig. Oh yeah and to the unfortunate ones like my self who have RDRAM its time to throw it out the window and get a new comp. Seems like no company is willing to use RDRAM anymore even though it has great features on it.

hhmmm......i agree with most of what you said, but quick warning about how much to get.
for now keep it below 2gigs. why you ask,

well simply, it slows down your computer(funny huh)

most computers cant talk to that much space at one time and trying makes it slow down.......so for now keep it at 2
