I saw some really pretty work horses today. But I don't know what kind. They had feathers around their hoves, but they wern't very big. You could tell by the way their body was that they were work horses though. I wish I knew what kind they were, they wern't big enough to be Percerons and they just didn't look like Clydesdales, and I don't really know any other kinds. They were two brown ones and two grey ones. They were beautiful. They had just come in from working in the field.

Two of them were dark brown, two grey. They were about five feet tall at the shoulders.

I've seen horses kinda like that, and it turned out that they were those super-hard-working horses. They're crosses between Hackney and Clydesdale, and they stand about 16 hands at the withers. They were bred to be able to work all day out in the fields then pull you back into town at night at about 5 miles an hour, which was way back when the cross was first made.
Of course, the horses you're talking about may not be that kind of cross, but they may be a number of different crosses between any number of breeds. There's also the possiblity that they're some pure-bred German horses, such as the Schleswig or the South German, as those breeds can be rather small by way of draft horses.

There's a Shire at the new barn I'm at. I got to ride him my first day out there. It was amazing. He is so tall, and his gait is huge. I was so different from riding my little paint.

Awwwwww cool I see and there are Belgians too and plus, theere are other drafts like Jutlands, Italian Heavey Draft, Russian Heavy Draft and there's so many and ppl usually Xbreed Thoroughbreds with Shires or Percherons.
