I've got a question. Katara is able to mess with the fire nation tanks that use water as a balast. Since humans are 98% water shouldn't she be able to mess with people, too? She can bend perfume so she should be able to bend blood. Not to mention she already can do stuff with the body since she can heal.
What do you all say?

I agree that that is probably the case. However they probably wont ever show her doing that because of the censors on the show. Truth be told Aang could sufficate you if he bended all the air away from you. There are lots of other things that they don't show because it is a kids show and that would be way to graphic but they could tecnically do it.

You knopw what? That's a very good point there, I've never really given it any thought before. Shoot, if that were the case then it would be no problem eliminating the firenation.

The body is 78% water and I think there's a waterbender who bended the acid in peoples's stomachs. He's featured in the card series.

She did remove the excess water from Aang in Kyoshi Island.
But I agree, if Katara were to make an ice spear out of the water in your body and it show the blade coming through the victim's stomach, it would be too graphic. sweatdrop

yes, it is true. (ive known this for awhile. its been on Nick.com forever.) go to http://www.nick.com/all_nick/tv_supersites/avatar2/for the whole description. She has too many powers!!! crying I think healing should of gone to earth... but, yeah, I read somewhere that waterbenders can controll their opponents like puppets! I also, agree that Avatar would be better if were on a different network sad Becuase it's so good on nick! Think how awesome it would be on a different network!!! heart eek

When I brought this up w/my friend she said that Katara would not do that is because she was raised in a peaceful nation. Not totaly peaceful, but much more compared to the earth and fire nations.

if u continue reading the link i posted b4, the paragraph makes it clear that the Water Tribes are all about the defense, using ones force against itself, healing rather than harming, stopping damage rather than inflicting it...etc.

If water benders can control a body, it makes perfect sense that they can heal. I mean... healing is in the body..... I don't really know how more plain to make this....
I know that lots of magic theories give healing to earth, stuff about earth giving life and strength and all that jazz, but I really do think that it makes more sense in this respect that water has the healing ability. After all, this isn't really magic...
