...I have somethign in common with a choicer...She's a furry, I'm a furry. And the comparasins don't stop there. Despite the fact that i really dislike this person, I find it interestign how much i seem to have in common with her...and it makes me want to get to know her out side of the debate. I know the allience is for all that, but last i checked she wasnt part of it...and disagreed with it.
Still, mabey in this thread we can talk about how much we have in common with the choicers over in their guild?

I think that most people, on both sides would be suprised at just how much they have in common with people who believe differently on this one (important) topic. If we could get together and try to talk about other topics, I bet many of us would be able to get along pretty well.
Funny how this one issue has divided so many people who otherwise are suprisingly alike.

I have huge amounts of pro-choice friends. We just skirt away from the abortion issue.
It's especially difficult for me because most people with my beliefs are the furthest thing from pro-life you could imagine. They're like the people at the frontlines of the NOW protests or whatever.

I have a lot in common with a lot of my pro-choice friends.
Sometimes, we'll enjoy the same anime, or manga, or book, or clothing store, or kind of food, or whatever.
I just wish the abortion issue didn't have to seperate us.
Because I can be the friend of anybody; I'm open-minded, and don't mind being friends with people who respect my beliefs.
But when I don't receive that respect from other people . . . *middle finger*

I know one of my friends from high school was in his college's pro-choice organisation thingy, and one of my best friends in college founded our school's chapter of NOW. I read Ms. every so often, and really, I'd have no problem with NOW if they'd just stop with the "ZOMG THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ABORTION!! EVEN WHEN THE FETUS IS 9 MONTHS OLD IT'S A GLOB OF TISSUE!!! ANTI-CHOICERS ARE ALL OLD CONSERVATIVE MEN!1!1!" scream Anyways.... stare And on top of that when I joined Stitch 'n' b***h this one chick was like "ya, so I went to the March for Women's Lives..." and I had to be all "...oh, that's nice..." stare gonk

Like I was going to join the women's health clinic (it deals a lot with women who have been sexually assulted, and stuff like that. But also with birth control and what-not.) but part of how it described itself was "pro-choice" and so I was like "Nevermind." and joined a Youth Liberal Party group instead.

Hey, Pyro, I know you have a dislike of me, but I'm a furry too! 4laugh
Ooo, I draw avatar furries... Anyone wanna see one? O_o
You know, what I noticed is that among anthropromorphs, furries, scalies, etc., everyone wants sleek powerful fat-free tigers, wolves, lions, etc....
In RPs, my two characters are Seto Kawada (who is based on a friend of mine) who is a boy who gets stabbed by a Beluga Whale serum.
And turns into beluga whale... Blubbery? O_o What do you call a furry without fur?
My other character is Faye, a chinchilla.

All anthropomorphic creatures of the discription you gave would be catagorised genrealy as a furries, or if the title is too silly, as anthros. Most commenly, any things that can not be broken down into furry, scalie, or orca is given simple the general animal and and the woord anthro or furry after ward. Such as Whale-anthro. Or Centipede-anthro.
I've noticed it to, but unlike som efurries I chose my animal furona based on the descirptions others have given me of my personality. I was orginaly a wolf, but by the ecouragement of a few friends I sat down and began to look at what others thought of me. Alot of them calle dme charming, witty, sharp, cute, lovebal, playful. The first animal to come to mind was a cat. But I wasn't sure what kind, so for awhile I went as a feline shape shifter, in role play i could shift between any feline form i chose. After awhile and examing further alot of people said i had a harder side about me. When i wanted to be i was very serious and could be down right scary. COnsidering all of this the only animal that came to mind was a tiger. *shurgs*
Its not that i hate you chat, far from it. I do dislike your overly cheerful personlity, how you indirectly insult us in the choicer guild, and the fact that you come across as quite naive at times. What I dislike is your presence here.

Heh, one of my friends calls them "________o-morphs." But the ______... Kinda distorted, like Whalie-o-morhpies.
As Seto Kawada is based on one of my friends (I SWEAR! He escaped from Seaworld or something! gonk ) I'm a chinchilla. Cute and fluffy and hard to put down.
Hmmm, according to that description, I think you WOULD be a cat. Either that or a hyena. Or a Jaguar or smthin. (But not my grandma's cat, it wasn't a cat, it was some sort of wandering demoness. Oh yeah, and it was feral. crying )
lol lol, I'm only naiive when someone's looking. Makes it hell easier to kick butt when no one is watching! ^_~

Indeed. Sometimes I have someone with whom I tend to debate a lot, yet I also want to get to know more about that person outside debate. They can be incredibly nice persons too, even though their thinking might be flawed.

I know someone who's pro-choice (not actively, though,) and I love his company and he loves mine. He's a lot older than me, but anyway, he's very smart. But the ones in the debate thread... the way they address other people sounds really not like someone I want to spend time with, and that's why I'm not in the PL/PC Alliance.
It's not really safe to say that their ideas are flawed, since they might be reading... they just see things a different way, they don't look at the way we do. I think abortions are repulsive because it takes a new human's life away, but they think it's worth it since it saves time and money. That doesn't help anyone understand, but anyway, opinions opinions...

There are Pro-Choicers, such as myself, that have been allowed to join this Guild, so not only might we be reading your posts, we can reply to them. 2. I do agree that we see this issue in different ways. Pro-Choicers tend more to look at this from the woman's point of view, while Pro-Lifers tend more to think of this issue from the fetus' point of view. 3. It isn't that it isn't "safe" to call Pro-Choice views flawed, but dimissing an entire side just because you happen to believe differently doesn't help. If you give people on the "other side" a chance, you might find that you can really get along, even if you don't agree on this one issue. I don't think that most Pro-Lifers' views are wrong or flawed, I just happen to believe differently.
