That's one of my favorite misunderstandings of lyrics!
Another is when my husband was a kid, he thought the song that said "this guy's in love wtih you," was saying, "the sky's in love with you!"
And that's funny, because a lot of people have thought sort of the opposite: when Jimi Hendrix sang "Excuse me while I kiss the sky," they thought he was singing, "Excuse me while I kiss this guy."
When I was little, I named a troll doll "Goldie," after a Beatles song, where I thought they were singing, "Goldie, love me," but they were actually singing, "hold me, love me."
