Unfortunately we all have to get jobs, so we can spend more money to keep the economy going strong. I wish I had some pearls of wisdom but alas I have none.
Do you have any plans or goals? That's a good place to start.

Remember.... Don't try to grow up too early. Fine legally your an adult but you don't need to settle down and have a career, kids and a family straight off the bat. Enjoy life, see the world etc
Don't listen to your career adviser, they are lying most of the time. I didn't settle into my career until I was 24 or 25. Even now I'm unsure I've made the right decision, but I'm going with the flow and things seem to be working out. My advise is to start doing something that pays the bills, be that working behind a bar or in a restraunt, or doing other easy to get jobs. Now those jobs shouldn't be your career, but help you find your feet in the world, and give you a work ethic. Once you decide on a career, then start thinking about college etc.
Travel, alot. Your young, so things like study visas etc are very easy to get. The more you experience of the world the better a citizen you will be within it. Too many people sit in their own countries and think their culture and way of life is the only way to be, when there is a whole world to be experienced.
Finally, never let anyone tell you that your too old to be doing something... Your never too old to have fun etc.

Ok, thanks for your advise, now I need some more.... stare I think my life is about as F**** up as it can get, you see... well.. its a long story, but I moved cross country, stopped going to school so now I have to get my GED, I have no ID, I am in the prosess of getting my social security card now, and I have horrible social anxieties, so getting a job is exremely hard for me....not a good combination heh? I also live with my aunt and uncle, and I feel like I have already worn out my welcome... sweatdrop

That's not all that rare. There are days when you are going to feel down. As you've probably already realized there is no magical wand that will *poof* make you all grown up. Time and experiance will mold and shape you into the person you are meant to become. Just remember the valuble lessons learned when you were a kid-- the simple joys that can be found in a moment's peace or in the simplest of objects. Try to be "Adult" all the time and you will forget that and be unhappy-- you can't always be striving forward because you will lose sight of where you already are.
