((If you're wondering, this is a sort of continuation of her first rp, which is in the journal)) The time had come for another attempt at freedom. Dreahni was stronger - she could feel it. And the darkness was tight - tighter than before, so tight she could barely move. And the darkness was colder, too - no longer warm and comforting as before, it now leeched the warmth from her own body.
Dreahni began thrashing again, trying to break free of the darkness. Her world rocked alarmingly, tipping and dumping her on her side. She heard a sound, and suddenly there was a line of something else, an anti-darkness - in this moment she came to know it as 'light'. Screeching defiance with a voice she had not known she had, Dreahni attacked this weakness in the darkness with all her strength. The crack widened, and suddenly the darkness fell away to either side. For several moments, Dreahnilay panting, recovering from the massive effort of breaking free. Then she stood shakily and gave a cry of triumph...

Gylfie looked at Drehani and smiled at the little chick who had finally hatched. "Hello little one." She said and smiled warmly at Drehani. Though she wasn't Drehani's mother she still wanted to be there to see her hatching.

Fikyr wandered, he didn't really know where he was going, nor did he really care that much. It was more the point that he was going to end up somewhere, and that was where he would really begin to look at things. He often found himself doing this on lazy days, wandering about with no real purpose in mind. It didn't matter really, he always found something interesting to do, and today didn't fail him. As he found himself walking, he stopped, cocking his head for a moment at a barely audible sound. He heard it again, a little sqeak, and he turned, seeking the source of this noise. He also heard another griff talking, and curious, he wandered up. A small, newly hatched hatchling was there with a purple and white griff that he hadn't met before. He walked up to the pair. "Hello there, sorry if I'm intruding, I just heard the noise and was curious as to what was going on."

Dreahni cocked her head at the creatures before her. Obviously they were intelligent, as they had spoken. And - this after a quick glance at herself - the creatures DID sort of resemble her. So. These things were obviously the same species, and might be her parents. She should probably be relatively polite.
"My name is Dreahni. Who are you?"
Short, to the point, and she'd offered her own name first. That should do it.
((Forgive her manners and thoughts - Dreahni IS a demonic, after all.))

"This egg hatched." Gylfie informed Fikyr. She smiled at Drehani. "We are hippogriffs, as are you." She said to the hatchling.
(Sorry for the non literateness but DNAnge has me distracted.)

Fikyr nodded, "so I see." He peered down at the small hatchling. She reminded him of someone...but who was it? Just something about the way she looked, it was slightly different than himself and the female besdie him. But what was it about her? He couldn't figure it out. It didn't matter that much anyways. "I'm Fikyr," he told her, amazed at the level of literacy of one so small.

"Hippogriffs? Odd name. I like it." Dreahni considered for a moment, then nodded to Fikyr. "You have a fierce-sounding name."

Gylfie stared at the new born chick. It was kinda cute and fluffy looking once it had dried off. It didn't seem like a normal hippogriff for some reason. She shook off this thought. "I'm Gylfie." She said to the other two. She had not ever seen an angelic or demonic hippogriff before so she didn't know that Dreahni was a demonic.

"Gylfie." Dreahni strained to say something polite. THe name sounded so soft, not fierce or combative like Fikyr's. Not at all to her taste. "That sounds rather...motherly." She edged away from Gylfie and closer to Fikyr, hoping that softness and kindness wasn't contagious, and if it was, that she had avoided infection so far.

Fikyr looked at Dreahni, her take on his name seemed like a compliment, so he took it as one. "Well then, thank you. Dreahni...your name sounds," he searched for the right word. "Mystical, or, mysterious," he decided on. Looking at the way she had looked at Gylfie when she had said 'motherly' he judged she didn't like it all that much. Wait...that look she had to her, the way she regarded things, he knew that. Ephaph! That was it! "You remind me of Ephaph," he told her, "and that means that you arne't a regular hippogriff as we are. You're a demonic."

Gylfie shook her head. "Motherly..... There's an odd way of putting it." She said. "Why are you so afraid of me? Do you think I'm too 'motherly'?"

Dreahni stiffened. "I'm not afraid! I just...don't want to be like you." ((Completely oblivious that this could be construed as an insult)) Hearing Fikyr's comment, she perked up. She had 'known' she wasn't ordinary, and this Ephaph sounded interesting. "Who's this Ephaph? Can I meet them?"

"You don't have to be like me. What ever made you think that?" She asked and looked at Fikyr. "What's a demonic?" She asked.

Edging further away from Gylfie, Dreahni muttered something about not wanting to risk it, then looked to Fikyr, eagerly awaiting his response to Gylfie's question. Soft hippogriffs have their uses, she decided. She herself would never have asked that question, as it would have made her look ignorant.

"Ephaph? Yes, I'm sure if you wanted to meet him you could. He's a little like you, so I guess you two wouldn't be too bad off. He's blunt." He looked up towards Gylfie as she asked what a demonic was. "From what I can see, a demonic is similar in basic structure to a regular hippogriff, however their wings are batlike, and they have horns, their tailsare not feathery, but pointed, unlike us. There are some other differences as well, but Ephaph would know better than I."
