I might get flamed but oh well. Black Sabbath pretty much was the first heavy metal band (1st band declared heavy metal). So I'm not going to say, "Without Black Sabbath metal as you know it would not exist," because we all know that is not true. Other bands would have came along and messed with their amps to make a more distorted noises, and used their voices to stand out. But without jazz/blues metal might not have been the same. So I'm saying Black Sabbath helped speed up the movement of heavy metal.

Judas Priest, because they took the blues influence from Sabbath, Zeppelin, Purple and others, and then sped it up and added the twin guitars and created the start for bands like Maiden to continue pushing metal forward, and they also majorly influenced power metal with their Painkiller album.

Impaled is my favorite band. They've had several different guitarists, but they always get above average ones'. Andrew LaBarre was their best, by far. He is a producer and has his own solo BM band Altar the Sky. He's a great musician and he's probably the main reason why I love Dementia Rex (Heh, I'm wearing the shirt right now.) and Mondo Medicale so much.
