well i was asked to read a poem at my grandparents 50th anniversary:

two score and ten
has it been so long
uncertainty and unknowing were the powers at hand
but above them all he stood
to him the two travellers have clung, letting him be the light to guide by
yes there have been trials, and there have been sorrows
the tides of life, the currents of change, both have pulled.
but to him, to the rock they have clung
and this three bound chord shall never be torn.
now here we are with this moment at hand.
and he is still their refuge
still their beacon, calling, helping them along.
life may take unexpected turns, throwing us about
but in the end, it is a foundation that holds us up
helps us to stand
but you, you have shown us hope, shown us the result of hardwork,
of agreements made, of willingness to cooporate and not hold grudges
of caring, of loving and understanding that this is until 'death do us part'
so this day, we come together in celebration
a time of happiness to celebrate the joys, of you, and your life together.

well what do you think?

I think your grandparents will love it, for the poem is heartfelt and sweet. What grandparent wouldn't like it.
