I think that any sticky or announcement we post should have a relevant and simple, professional title. Nothing that sounds too urgent, nothing in all-caps, that just makes players nervous. I just read about this in the Captain's Guild, and it's on a do's and don't's list as a big fat don't.

Not that I'm jumping on anyone, I do it too.

Also, I'm making progress on the guide and the new dice system is almost complete. It should be implemented soon, along with new character sheets for the players.

When the new guide and dice system is released, how about we do a recruiting drive? A new crop of recruits to replace some of our old, inactive members. Tell me what you think.

I think that would be a fabulous idea, get some fresh new talent in, and maybe it will bring in some new ideas too.

I also think that around that time we should start to plan an event so we can meet some of the new members. It seems we have been getting a few new ones, and events are great for newbies! This would have to be worked on by the event people I'm sure, but ideas would be very helpful.

Heya! ::pounces:: How are ya?

Exactly. By the way, do you like the new home page? I changed it to simplify.

I am contemplating removing the rule about only humans alowed...we've been bending on it already.

So I was thinking that a big introductory event, after a recruting drive, would be good for new and old players alike.

It's short and sweet, I like the new layout alot.

My only concern about changing the human thing is that we'll end up with a lot of over done characters. We would have to draw the line somewhere. As much as I love vampires for example, I'm not sure if Crosshaven is the place for them.

As far as the event, I am dying for something big and maybe a little crazy. An introductory event could end up being a lot of fun for everyone.

PS: *Huggles!* I'm doing alright, schools starts soon dramallama How about you? How is that oh so painful process of job hunting going? Any luck?

I have a job, just no hours. And my job kinda sucks. I take it you aren't looking forward to school. I only have one class this time, so my schedule is manageable.

Yes! Something big! After the new stuff comes out, we'll plan a bash.

I'm not sure Crosshaven is the place for vampires, werewolves, elves, etc., either, but there is something to be said for variety, and Crosshaven is supposed to be a hodgepodge of many different things. And we can always decline over-done characters. I've done it many times.

I'm kind of ambivelant, on the one hand, I want to keep that kind of character of this guild, but on the other hand, vampires and such are not necessarily cheesy, and might free up a lot of people's creativity.

I think we need to survey the guild, see what the players think.

It's been a long summer, so school is something besides work that will give me something to do.

I suppose you are right about the vamp thing, and if it counts as an arcane gift that would be just fine I think. We'll see what others think about the idea. I'm really excited about seeing the results from the survey.

As I said, I'm not ragging on anyone, I do it myself.

About the survey, everyone so-far is against the idea of letting in other supernatural creatures. That's good to know. We really should let the guild decide on this one.

Supernatural creatures: don't know maybe the guild should decide. But if it was implanted it would have to be heavily monitored. People get easily carried away.

BTW: Amunet Falkland had trouble posting in the guild earlier and asked for my help. Any of you had trouble posting in the guild before?

I've never had trouble, except for when guilds in general are down. That's weird, what happened? Did it give her a "You are not authorized" message?
PostPosted: Mon Aug 28, 2006 5:32 pm

So far, no one who answered the survey is in favor of allowing supernaturals. That's probably for the better. lol, less of a headache for us.
