So it seems we need to make a new forum, especially since Gallenger's is in-accessible (at least to me, currently). So I proposed to make a new one (unless we can fix the previous one). So in making this forum, since it will or at least should include you guys as members, it seems fitting that you help produce this site.

So to begin with, what name should this forum have? And then How should it be structured? We shall begin there.

Been a long time since I've worked forum layout, so it'd probably be best to just leave that to the pros here (whoever that may entail). However, I do have a name to propose. "Neo-Com Dawn", with a little subscript stating its communist/socialist nature. If we went with that then the forums would have the honor of sharing a name with my uber commie Guitar Hero band. And in case this wasn't obvious enough, it's a play on the whole neo-conservative dealio, which I found ironic enough when I first conceived it, and I just like the word dawn.

Oh, no, it's... the red dawn!!

Well I suppose we start small...

What should our Name be and what should our color set up be?


Personally, I favor the name of the forum being NCS :p

And for the color scheme to be Blue and White (as this is often a template available on most web forum programs) whereas, if we don't necessarily know what we're doing red/gold or any other more communist looking scheme may end up looking tacky.

Perhaps, but I probably know just as many people who hate blandness, and that's really what plain blue and white forums signify. Should we not have at least something that differentiates our forum as one of the thousands and thousands that don't follow the standard? Rather than the millions and millions that do?

Besides, those people have lived this long with the color yellow intact, so I'm sure they can take it for another few pages. If they really had so much trouble with it, they would have stopped functioning long ago.

Edit: In addition to that, we'll likely want our own banner, yes? So what sort of hideousness will we have if we couple a basic white and blue background with a communist banner? And don't say that the banner could be uniform with the layout because we should all be well aware by now of the fact that communism/socialism cannot possibly exist without red, black, yellow, and white combination banners. Anything that doesn't follow such a standard will inherently collapse the space time continuum.

I would like some picture from one of the revolutions, but if that's not possible or feasible my next choice would be something resembling any of the old propoganda posters (or anything else like that).

Sure enough... being too plain is just as lame. Really, with red and yellow at least being in the same analogous color range, it wouldn't look that bad.... as long as it 's not like primary-color bright.
edit: Heck, the color scheme from your all's profiles is pretty nice, actually. >_>

Well the problem with a speical brackground is that if it changes colors your text will sometimes get absorbed, or worse yet the site will lag really bad for slowdem users like me lol. But it'd be a great banner/sig idea.

Ok well I guess what we ought to do now is create a list of possible forum programs to use.. Of course the prerequisite is that they're free :p

M-man you have the power to edit posts, as do I but I'm feeling lazy, you could create the spot for a list and we'll just let people post them as we go, then we can move them to the top list and delete that portion of the post.
