I've only seen YuYu Hakusho on TV. I never realized it was a manga, too. I got hooked to the Yu-Gi Oh! manga over the summer and I know from experience that it is a lot darker and things are left out (like cute moments and dark moments) and stuff like that... but Yu-Gi O! came on cartoon network whereas YuYu Hakusho was put on adult swim, obviously aimed an older age group...
So my question is, is the manga better? Are there major differences, or cool/sweet/dark moments that they leave out completely? (I know they cleaned up the aired cartoon version a little...)

Well, I can't really tell you because I haven't seen the whole series before. I missed the whole Dark Tournament (as well as abunch of episodes before it) and 2 episodes of Chapter Black. As you may know, the manga hasn't gotten to the Chapter Black yet so I have nothing to compare with. sweatdrop The manga is very good though. 3nodding

Actually... I know nothing about the manga...
So was it originally a TV show and now he's making it into a manga?

Tesah Actually... I know nothing about the manga... So was it originally a TV show and now he's making it into a manga? Other way around. The manga is okay, but I found that all the extra stuff in the beginning is only good the first two times. And I haven't finished it because it isn't all out. I'm to the middle of the DT I think.

Wait... does the manga go on after the TV show ends? I'm really confused b/c chibi_kitsune_warrior said: Quote: Well, I can't really tell you because I haven't seen the whole series before. First it was in Shonen Jump, and then they started putting it out by itself. Also, they take about 2 months to translate/ put out to sell.

The manga was first written by Togashi-san in 1990. So it's been out in Japan since then. The show came out in '90 or '91 (Can't remember which. ><) in Japan.
Now, FUNimation and Shounen Jump were/are just dubbing it for America! FUNimation started dubbing the show before the manga came out (I believe.) So it makes sense for the series to be finished already because the dubbing process for anime is faster than the dubbing process for manga (I heard this from a website and I'm not sure if it's right. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
That is why the manga isn't finished, but the series is.

You're welcome.
Yes, there are some things in the manga that aren't in the anime. But, there are also things in the anime that aren't in the manga.

I didn't think they'd really do that unless they were trying to make it aim at a younger audience or something (I'm thinking of Yugioh tho)

Can you give some exemples??? Here's one. In the manga, Yuusuke mum (Atsuko) went with them to the Dark Tournament. She didn't in the anime.
