As much as this topic saddens me, discussing it may be therapeutic and it's bound to come up sooner or later: Where were you /what were you doing when you found out about Elliott's passing? Please share any moments or thoughts you have on the subject, and give comfort or support to others.

I guess I'll post first. It was morning and i had VH1 on the TV and the story came up and i didn't get it at first when i saw the pic of Elliott with years underneath, it didn't register, i thought they were anouncing a greatest hits collection. (to this day i get alarmed every time i see a greatest hits add and i double check to make sure the years add up) Finally it sunk in, and I cried for the better part of an hour. Then i took a shower and listened to Figure 8 on repeat. I still miss him, and sometimes, i can listen to his songs and just listen, and forget, but more often then not i find my self saying :"Why, Elliott why?" He was so talented. sad

I didn't find out about him until he was already gone. That's what gets me so angry at times. I never got to see him live. Still, I feel like he was one of my best friends. When I first found out how he killed himself. I was shocked... two stabs to the chest, and then he still didn't die for thirty-some minutes.

Its horrible to say, but y'know if youre gonna kill yourself why do it in such a painful way? Its a shame you didn;'t know of his music while he was alive. y'know whats weird? I can't watch his videos. I can watch Michael Hutchence, Layne Staley ,y'know, and occasionally i'll feel a pang of sadness, but with Elliott its worse. Somethine about seeing him moving and living... I guess maybe cos i wasn't all thatused to seeing him while he was alive, there was no youtube back then and the only video of his i ever saw was Son Of Sam...

For me, it helps to see him moving. I feel like he's still with me.

They make me cry, but I feel very hapy too. Well, the ones where he tells jokes to the audience, anyway.
