History: The Draconian Royal line is a long and proud group of Emperors and their families. Tradition is important in the Palace and the early families and Emperors set the precedence for later Dynasties. The first Emperor was Demosthene I of the Demosthene-Jahan Dynasty, he was strong, all powerful, and the one who stabilized the fledgling Star Nation, conquered the last few remnants of the Draconian Republic who resisted their rule, and established strong bonds with other Star Nations that last even till this day. But their most lasting contribution is they provided the base needs of the people and in return was allowed to create authoritarian state.

Points of Protocol: The Draconis Empire, unlike most, feudal-esque institutions... Does not practice Primogeniture (first born inheritance) as a result the first born or eldest child may or may not inherit the throne Royal succession goes to the most capable heir. Daughters of the Emperor (princesses) cannot carry the throne nor can princes who were adopted from a outside source only Draconian princes of Royal blood can inherit the throne. Also the Empire's heir must be blessed by the head or heads of the religion he worships in most cases the heir belongs the the Church of Yevon or Granas but this is not a certainty. However if the heir does not receive the blessing of some religious authority he may not take the throne thus civil war may insue.

Name Ordinal: Like other Royal rulers the official name of a Emperor is his last name followed by a ordinal. Unlike other Kings and Emperors the ordinal is not the actual ordinal of their proper name but rather marks the number of emperors up to that point that bore that same last name. Ner'Zhul II is the second because he was the second Emperor to have that last name and Demosthene I is the first because he is the first one up to that time to bear that same last name.
