more experimental than punk rock i believe but who cares, anybody listen to them? i think they are pretty good but de-loused is better than frances in my opinion. ninja ninja ninja

Mars Volta is an excellent band. They aren't punk whatsoever. I'd say they're progressive speed jazz.

If you like them, I recommend Liquid Tension Experiment.
