Well, I wrote this in my gaia journal. I'm really concerned for him.
Quote:
Well, my dad told me about one of my old friends recently. Now, my dad's a psychologist, so he can identify with people.
Well, my friend is really depressed, and my dad says that sometime in this next year he's either a: gonna get in trouble, b: commit suicide, or c: run away from home.
Well, what my dad told me was that he's going through some really hard times. He's working really hard because he had gone over his phone bill once, and he's paid his mom at least $600. Yet his mom still says that he owes him much more. And he's trying to fit in in high school. Once he joined the football team, he was beat up there. He gets beat up at school, and he's just trying to get around. He's failing classes and writing poetry that is to the level of lyrics of bands like NIN and FFTL. And he's only a year older than I am.
Should I try to ask my dad to let me talk to him? Because he tried asking my friend's dad, but since we're associated with a different part of their family (like friends of that family) we weren't allowed to. Should I ask my dad to get his email or something? Because I'm really concerned about him, and I don't want him to commit suicide. He's a really great person, and he's having a hard time. I just want to chat and make sure that he doesn't feel totally alone.

Yes you should talk to him but only if you can relate to him. Don't act too sudden by surprising him when letting him know that you know about his problems.

Whats NIN??

Nine Inch Nails

And yes, I think you should definitely talk to him.
Maybe not full out 'your deppressed and you need help' but jsut let him know your there for him and he means something to you.

I agree. Talk to him, and if he tells you about any of his problems try to help him out. (I'm about to sound weird, be forwarned) Also, make sure he wants advice before giving it. In one of my psych classes we talked about different types of listening, and sometimes people just want to talk and deal with things themselves. So, just beware, especially when on shaky ground.

Yeah I understand that. If you just go up and give someone advice, that'd be a bit awkward.
My dad said that he's setting up a date when we can all chat. mrgreen
