I've just gotten truly active in the local theatre. My friend, Lucy Sue will be calling me any minute about me working backstage. ^w^ I can't wait, but I have no clue what to expect with that kind of stuff... Anyone care to give me some sort of idea as to what it's like?

Well, me and my tech buddies were like family. we helped each other whenever we could and it was always fun backstage. Here is a tip: Actors get all the fame but techies give them their fame.

Some pointers I can give you are try new things. This a new experince, try to be helpfuly but not overly so that you are in everyones way. Don't do something or build something inless you are sure you are ready for such endeavors. Its better to ask for help then screw up and get hurt. Remeber everyone is new to tech at some point or anthor.

Oh yeah... even though it is usually fun and games, you do have to be careful and not get anyone hurt. Take a look at my worst set incidents of times where techies screw around too much. I'll post the link in the next post.

Damn...there are a lot of things...
- Bring a stick. And don't be afraid to wack actors to death.
- Bring a sewing kit (especially safety pins!)
- Bring a gameboy or a book. Becuse you could get bored.
- Bring black face paint. Because everyone likes the techie war colors.
- Don't count homicide out just yet.
- Bring your own roll of duct tape. It'll come in handy.

I'm on the paint crew for A Midsummer Night's Dream, which will be my first tech experience
I hope to do stage crew or maybe lights for some other stuff, but I have a vision for this play...

bring the afore mentioned items. Also bring the following:
*food
*flashlight
*food
*playing cards
*food
*black outfit(ONLY black)
*food
*sleeping bag and pillow
Be prepared for long ours of hard work. the fun part is distracting the actors on the final show by flashing and/or mooning them, etc.
