heart Popping in to get some coffee on my way to quest and work on this guild...decides to sit awhile and listen to the music (It is morning, so I'm rocking to Tommy Lee's drums.) Got to get awake...yawns. Starts tapping foot to the beat and the caffeine is kicking in! eek

Hello, it's a BookClub!Get the book! Meet on September 13th (in this Cafe') to discuss the book. Let's have fun...finding out our differences of opinion about the book!
September BookSeptember read/discuss=Harry Potter (Book #1 in the series!) Things to think about. 1. Do you like the Harry character? Who is your favorite character? 2. How does Harry's treatment by his only family, make you feel? 3. What is your favorite scene in the book?(don't confuse the book with the movie.) 4. If you could have a familiar, like Harry's owl, what would it be? 5. Who do you think is the most evil character? Why?

A book club is an awsome idea, besides decussing a book that we will all read at the same time. It also might be fun to let everyony give a weekly book review on books that each of us have read. In a guild that I run on neo rofl yes neo lol. Its a guild for adults and mature teens. we have a day of the week set aside for what we call (The Sharing Of A Good Book) You might consider this for its nice to learn about a book before reading it and also before wasting money on one thats really not worth buying. cheese_whine

smile Welcome to our first book review smile Sing Down The Moon by Scott O'Dell On a spring day, a young Navajo girl named Bright Morning and her friend Running Bird are taking their sheep up into the hills above Canyon De Chelly, Arizona. As they are climbing up to the high meadow, they see strange men coming towards them. The two men on horseback, turn out to be spanish slavers. They kidnap Bright Morning and take her to a southwestern town, where mostly mexicans live. She is sold to a mexican family, as a slave. At that house, she meets another slave girl the who speaks the Navajo language. Bright Morning is told how she can escape and geet back to her people. After a long and dangerous journey, she returns to Canyon De Chelly. When she gets back, instead of finding the peace she has longed for, she finds that the U S Army known as "long knives" by the indians, and led by indian scout Kit Carson have taken over the village. They force the Navajo to walk 350 miles from Canyon De Chelly, Arizona to the Bosque Redondo, near Fort Sumner, New Mexico. This period in history is known as the "Navajo Trail of tears." Along the way, many Navajos die, as the forced march to the New Mexico reservation, is very harsh. All this is seen seen through the eyes of Bright Morning. This book by Author Scott O'Dell has won many awards including: Newbery Medal Honor book, 1971 - Booklist of Contemporary Classics for Young Adults, 1984 - Phoenix Award Honor Book, 1990 (Children's Literature Association) Bosque Redondo (the place of the cottonwoods), instead of this place being good for the Navajos when they forced to go there, it was a terrible location, where the Navajo couldn't raise sheep or farm, this took place in 1866. Canyon De Chelly sounds like ( de shay) It is one of the most beautiful locations in Arizona. Look up the life of Kit Carson. See how he effected the Navajo people.

If everyone would like I will also have 1 review per week on each harry potter books. This would be a start next Monday the 11th and would be done each Monday, until all the harry potter books are covered.
This seems to be what kids want,so grams will give it 4laugh Only request is that you all stop by and read the other reviews. You never know, they might even help you out with book reports for school lol
Feel free to pm grams with a few request as we just might fill a request. You really never know biggrin wink for request you must post and pm both wink
I have also created a journal of all reviews, just in case someone wishes one biggrin Hint 3nodding we taught History and Literature wink So History and Biographies of famous people will be covered on request ONLY.
