I want your opinion on this. What would anakins fate had been if qui-gon was still alive? would he had been trained and would he had turned evil and fall to the darkside? Also if he had the choice to train as a grey jedi would his fate had changed too?

um... maybe you didn't notice that it was a prophesy... even if small thing happened differently, the outcome would still be the same. The prophesy will come true no matter what. Yays mes wins 3nodding heart

I completely agree with Latrien. It was meant to be that way, there is no way to change the outcome.

Yeah... 'cause saying that he was going to stay good if Qui-gon was alive would be like saying it was Obi-Wan who screwed up. :p
And grey jedi-ism... crap. I'm sorry, but I am so anti-the-idea-of-grey-jedi that you would not even begin to believe... *sighs*

There is such a thing as being grey. Just because you do not want to ackknowledge it's existance in star wars, does not mean that it doesn't exist. It's all in a person's choice of what they want. Say a person doesn't agree with the rules of the lightside, but is smart enough to realize that the darkside is just completely foolish altogether. That person will be in the middle. Neutral. Grey. Whatever word you want to use. They learn both sides of he force and do not classify themselves to any side, because they want to live life the way they want to. They are also in a constant struggle between light and dark. But strong minds overcome. Latrien is grey. Exios is too. There is such a thing as grey jedi, and no way you can simply deny the existance of it. It is there choice and they choose to be what they want to be... not you.

Now next why would I say obi-wan messed up when in episode 3 he said he wasnt ready to train someone like anakin plus i wouldnt say that about my fav jedi. Also the prophsey said he was the chosen one not who would train him or what he would do because yoda said it that his future was clouded. And another thing, this was sapose to be a hypothedical question because i know it didnt really happen. ok, so lets leave it hypothedical.

>_> why are we even discussing this? It has no point in existing. Anywhoo, there is no way to change what has been don. it says so in the beginning of the Revenge Of the sith book.... ^^; Also, the chosen one. That's something that people brimg up and it seems like a wierd subject Luke was the chosen one.. according to some, anakin was the chosen one according to others, adn then my cousin said Leia was the chosen one. I don't get it and it drives me insane. Thank you for your time.

Um... Anakin was the chosen one.
Who killed Sidious? Anakin. It took him a while... but he brought balance to the force.

Think of the consequences if what took place didn't happen.
After you think about it, you'll realize things happening the way it did was indeed good.

Yes it was meant to Happen he may have killed many people as Vader but at the End he did fulfill the prophecy. Anakin broght Balance to the Force now the question that should be discussed is what would have happend if Anakin did not Sucomb to the darkside? If he chalanged Palpatine/Sidious would ha had won?
Once I see a good debate on this one il post Georges' answer to this exact question.

In my 'educated' opinion on this:
First of all, Sidious knew what he was doing... it is my view that the only reason Sidious was losing to Mace Windu, was because he knew that Anakin would step in. Knowing that Anakin would not step in, Sidious would indeed have just killed Mace Windu in a longer (WAY LONGER) fight. In this situation, what would happen next? For Anakin is still where Windu told him to stay... Would Palpatine still activate order66? I think he would... he can always get another apprentice that intregues him later (Mara Jade perhaps). With the order in affect, most of the jedi that died would still have died, even the younglings that Anakin would have killed himself.. instead, they would have been killed by the soldiers. Anakin was in a good position to escape though... but would he? ... ...With his arrogance, he may have gone to face Sidious himself, stayed at the temple to defend it, or he may have left to get to Kenobi and/or Yoda. None can say for sure. If he fought, there is a good chance he might have been killed... but then the legend of the prophesy becomes folly. If he left, either way, he would have probably ran Kenobi, either by order of Yoda or his choice to start with(my assumption). Then from there, who could tell? Would Anakin and Obi-Wan help yoda fight Sidious? ...Perhaps... ... ...and if by some chance they all escaped alive thanks to Bail, they would go into exile. Padme may or may not have died... Anakin's dreams told him she would, but in reality, it was he who killed her... so perhaps she would still live.. meaning that Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, and the babies would go retreat probably to Naboo and probably seek shelter with the gungans, since living royally would attract the attention on the empire. Yoda would probably still go to Dagobah. From there, things are majorly changed... with luke and leiah knowing they are siblings, them knowing of thier father+Mother and being with them, knowing old Ben Kenobi at the same time earlier, and they may or may not have even met Han or Chewy let alone still have posession on 3PO or R2! In time, I'm sure they would have joined the allaiance, and things would have turned out the same way (FOR THE BIG PICTURE) and things are good. Yay.
