okay so i havent actually told my mom about me being agnostic, but i think shes already kind of found out on her own. so today were at church and after its over she calls me over and talks to the preacher and is like "gavin just doesnt have that fire anymore, its there but we just need to bring it back" and hes like "well i sure will be praying for him" and then she goes on to say something like "dont you want to be a influence to your friends" and i really was strongly considering at that single moment going "******** YOU RELIGIOUS ASSHOLES! you are called a preacher for a reason, and mom you know that youre pissing me off"... but i didnt. then the whole way home my mom and my bro gave me a lecture about how animals were placed here by god for the use of humans and how its wrong to be gay... 2 of the key reasons i dont follow the ******** religion. they think theyre doing good by saying that but all their doing is getting me more "lost". sorry but i just had to rant... i doubt any of you guys have had people praying with you right there saying stuff like "god we just want you to restore gavins faith and save his soul"... and these religious nuts are really starting to piss me off

well, religion is something only you can do, so no one else should care. it's cool to be religious, but everyone should respect eachother's rights to be religious or not.

Problem is, Christianity is something that society instills in people from birth. They think it's truth, not just in the way someone believes in a religion, but they believe in it as strongly as you or I believe that the sky is blue. It's ******** brainwashing. Christianity thrives on mindless conformity, so it don't like things that are "different", which is why homosexuality is so intolerable, and differing religions are seen as an "evil" that must be stamped out.

Exactly. Religion on it's own isn't bad, but when it gets organized, it gets misused. Religion is supposed to make people feel better, not worse.

Religion is supposed to make people feel better, not worse. exactly dude, except you might not agree with this. i think people need to come to earth and exist in reality... instead of living in "heaven" and existing within your religion. i say no matter how good a religion makes someone feel it needs to be stamped out because all it is doing is making people live their WHOLE LIFE under the influence and control of something that doesnt exist. i believe in god but i believe in a different god and in a different kind of way. i believe some truly unselfish higher power said "here, i shall give people life" and then left us alone without expecting anything in return, unlike the god of christianity. i think that higher power is hiding itself from us and that its wrong to try to go searching for the answers to existance because i feel like they will never be found and arent supposed to be found

You think Christianity is bad? Boy you're living under a rock. Christinaity is far down on the scale for bullshit. Catholocism, Muslim, and the damn Puritans. Those are extremeist. Religion should never be organized. You should grow up though with atleast the thought of there being one god. There's always possibilities. Plus in knowing that there's "one god" you can denounce that all you want through "facts". Give em' this one: If they ever try and tell you we were all created by one man...Ask them " Okay if we were all created by someone...who created god?". They won't be able to answer...and then you can get the zinger in with "Man!". Man created god in my opinion. I think Jesus was a pot smoking hippie myself. Well opium probably, but still.
Just tell your parents dude. Let them know you don't believe, tell em' why and have good answers for all their s**t. I told my mom I didn't believe in the bullshit...she just ignores it like everything else I do that she dislikes haha.

So, this girl in my communications class, she's vegan, which I thought was pretty cool. But then, she starts saying basically how animal cruelty is OK and s**t and I'm just like, "What the ********..." but the worst part happened later: we had to do a speech on a controversial topic, and she decided to do hers on gene manipulation and she starts talking about how genetic diseases should be allowed to continue because whoever has the disease, God meant for them to die out, like Jewish communities with Taysach's disease should just die out or whatever. And even the teacher was like, "So, if God wanted them to die out, why'd he make them in the first place?"
