Damn you vile people, recommend me Folk or Folk Metal! I only really know of Fejd and Agalloch. So I'd like more Folk stuff.

Folkearth

American "folk" music doesn't sound hardly anything like folk metal, so, for something similar I'll recommend Alasdair Fraser, a mindblowing Scottish fiddle player.

Okay. I don't care if it's American or not, seeing as how Fejd is from Sweden, and they're just pure Folk, even though I found them on MA. But yeah, thanks for the suggestions. I'll go look into them.

On that note of Fejd, does anyone like them? I got into them a few months ago, and I love thier music since I had never heard anything like it before.

I forgot Tyr was folk metal. I know them too, and I've been meaning to check out Mago de Oz. Any suggestions for albums by them?

You might want to check out some of the traditional British string/guitar music (I'm not sure of the right term here). Led Zeppelin's acoustic stuff (a la Battle of Evermore) is really similar to this. Ummmmmm trying to think of artists......

Valkyria (awesome underrated Swedish folk metal)
Krauka (Denmark, folk)
Lumsk (Norway, folk metal)
Empyrium (Germany, folk metal (first 2 albums), neo-folk (next 2 albums))
Ogneslav (Russia, folk)
Carved In Stone (Germany, folk)
Troll Gnet El (Russia, folk, real party stuff)
Devil In The Kitchen (USA, folk/speed metal)
Heol Telwen (France, folk/black)
Aes Dana (more French folk/black)
Bran Barr (more French folk/black)
Månegarm (Sweden, folk/viking/black metal/folk)
TrollfesT (really fun folk metal from Norway)
Nokturnal Mortum (Weltanschauung album)
Turisas (Finland, folk/viking metal, epic!)
Storm (folk metal covers of trad Norwegian folk songs)
Dub Buk (Russia, folk/black)
Kroda (Russia, folk/black)
Kolo (Russia, folk)
Water Wind (Russia, folk)
Ulver (Kveldssanger album, neo-folk)
Of The Wand And The Moon (Denmark, neo-folk)
Rajna (France, neo-folk)
Uaral (Chile, folk/doom metal, melancholy)
Diadema Trists (Argentina, folk/black metal, melancholy)
Ashtar (Brazil, folk/prog metal)

That should be more than enough. I included brackets so you can pick what sounds interesting to you. They're all on MA (except maybe Krauka). I like making lists cause it helps me revise bands.

Sounds very cool. I've been meaning to try and find stuff from Russia.

And I apologize to people who have been making suggestions and I haven't been on to reply. My computer's been unplugged for a while due to me and my dad painting my room. But I'm back and I shall now try to make more contributions to the guild, as well as thank people properly.

*insert sound of jaw hitting floor* Whoa! That should keep me busy for a good long while! Thank you very much. I guess hearing Fejd made me want to get into more folk, as well as because my girlfriend likes Fejd, too, so I want to find more things we can connect on in the musical aspect. This should do quite nicely.

Praise be to Odin! Thank you both for the great lists. I haven't had much time to look into the bands, and I probably won't for today due to work, but tomorrow when I wake up (or tonight when I get off work) I'll be looking into each and every band!

I listened to Warrior Radio once, I tend not to listen to radios much though, so I never went back to it.

Also, this link should give you downloads for bands dubbed as folk metal on mikseri.net, a great Finnish music site. I ought to go there more, I just forget to.

Edit: And thankyou for reminding me of Skiltron. I heard them aaages ago and then they just got forgotten and I thusly never got any of their music.

Edit 2: I think I'm falling in love with Heorot.
