Dangerous to younglings, the surrounding forest is an ideal place for grazing of berries, tree bark, and roots.

Light hooves tapped over the earth, kicking up grass petals as they trotted over a rolling hill and hit the shadow of the great forest. The beast that had so gracefully waltzed into the shade tossed up his head and looked about as his body stood still. Magnificent was one word that would sum the beauty of the creature, glorious would be another. The deer's fur was a rich golden tan, and a pair of antlers topped his head.
The scent of cedar and pine filled his nostrils as he took in a breath and a hoof lifted from the ground and gave a paw before he stepped lightly into the woods, having before not sensed anything amiss. Birds twittered and chirped all about him and the crackle of fallen leaves sounded beneath him; it seemed everything about the forest was alive. He reached up, plucking a few leaves from a maple and chewed lightly on the leaves, sampling them before he gave a funny grin and swallowed. Behind him his tail twitched every so often and constantly his large ears rotated, listening intently to what was happening around him.

There was the sound of rustling leaves. Tergen lifted his head, instinctively putting his nose into the air to look for a scent. He found one easily enough, lowering his antlers cautiously as he stepped forward toward the noise. "Who goes there? Herla or Lera?" Almost before the words had left his mouth he felt somewhat silly. If it had been a Lera, it wouldn't understand, and therefore wouldn't answer. No matter. He would know if it was a Lera, whether it could answer him or not.

The creature already there became aware of the new comers appearance and lifted his head as the scent entered his muzzle. His large ears perked forward, hearing and clearly understanding the voice of the other deer and slowly he stepped forward, though had expected previously to have been alone in the forest, hoping for a quiet and peaceful evening. But this wasn't horrible, truthfully, it was a great experience for the young buck to meet others and start to know the herd a little better. The only problem was, was this deer part of his herd.
He stepped beyond the foliage and out from behind a few pines, and looked straight at Tergen. "Corps?" he asked calmly, and gave a small, deerish smile. His ears twitched, having taken in another's scent quite a ways off, and noted it was another deer, but didn't call it's presence into attention.

Tergen nodded with a smile in confirmation to the golden buck's words. "Indeed. And I take it you are as well?" His ear flickered instinctively at the sound of a snapping twig, but he knew immediately that only a deer could have caused the heavy sound, and paid little heed to the noise. It was more than just good news to the young buck to meet some other deer his age. This golden buck was the first he had seen. Tergen's eyes flickered to his curious head of antlers. His expression showed clearly he had something to say, but he kept his muzzle shut tight, refusing to say anything else.

A slender hind stood silently between the trees, the only sign of movement being the occasional twitch of her ears, but other than that, the herla was still. Noises sounded a little ways off, and the hind's head raised, eyes glancing around for the source. When she heard other voices, she relaxed once more. Herla, no threat to her. And then...she swivelled her head around as a branch gave way to a light footstep. Emerging out of the forest was a pure grey hind, who seemed to be musing aloud to herself. Aithne said nothing, merely kept her ccalm gaze upon the other hind. It was this that other deer felt was a little unnerving, Aithne's tendancy to not look away and observe common deer etiquette. And so the burnt orange doe stayed where she was, flame coloured eyes looking to the grey one.

Aithne heard the other deers soft call, and stepped forwards lightly, hooves barely even marking the soft ground upon which they stepped. She stopped when she was a little ways from the other deer, giving the grey one enough space to feel comfortable, or, maybe it was Aithne who felt that need to have space? Not out of fear, but something that Aithne could not even say herself kept the deer from interacting too closely with others.
The firey deer flicked her ears lightly, giving a look of mild interst at the other deers markings. And her eyes as well...interesting, this deer was most interesting. "You...you hail to winter." She told the other hind almost dreamily, yet not in a spacey way. The way of a poet, the way of one who sees more than the surface, who compares, who believes in the unseen. "Yes, winter. Like a blanket of snow soft on the rocks. And your eyes...they are like the frozen stream of water that trickles in between both, fragile, and still. It's pretty", she noted. Pretty, but a little sad. She wondered why? She continued to observe the other hind, wondering what the grey one would have to say.

Valebrook gave a slight nod of his head, "Yes." He watched the other deers actions and couldn't help but give a small smile in return, glad as well to meet someone much like himself in age and rank. His tail flickered behind him, but other then that little motion he was completly still. His deep eyes had noticed the clear expression on Tergen's face and he became curious, wondering exactly what it was that the deer wanted to say. So, without hesitation he asked by first saying something to make him comfortable, "Calm day isn't it? Rather peaceful. Have you a question? If so feel free to ask or speak away."

Tergen shrugged. He didn't like the spotlight on the fact that the other buck had obviously read his curiosity. "Nothing, just... your... yea." He muttered, his gaze flickering and landing on anything but Valebrook's antlers.

Valebrook gave an odd expression, one much like that of a human raising an eyebrow in confusion, but a smile was mixed into his and it soon eased down. He didn't know what Tergen was talking about, but he also wasn't about to but into something the deer didn't want to talk about. "I don't believe I caught your name...I'm Valebrook," he spoke suddenly.

"Tergen." The brown buck replied promptly, glad to have the spotlight taken off of what he had been avoiding. "I haven't really seen any other bucks around." He added with a bit of a smile. It was a relief, to say the least, to know that he wasn't the only one around.
