When you Evangelize it's supposed to be to people who come of their own will to hear you. Jesus went out and began speaking to no one and let whoever's intrest was caught come to him.
I know that to evangelize is to go out into life and spread the message of God's love, but you can't just approach someone and start telling them that God loves them. That's not evangelizing, that's shoving God into people's faces.
To love God is to love Him in your heart and in your life. Not to love Him by pushing Him into another's life. God lives in the heart and if someone does not choose to open their heart then you can't try to push God on them.
As those who love God and want to spread His word, we have to make it so that we never NEVER ask anyone to come, but just begin speaking and evangelizing and let them come. God only comes to hearts that are open and if someone does not have an open heart to God, then you only make them to believe that God is a mandatory belief. No wonder most teens don't believe in God, most weren't given the choice to love Him or not.

Would you really ever love someone if you had never met them but were forced to feel love for them because someone said so?

Would you really believe in something because someone told you that you had to believe in it?

Probably not. But even though you're not forcing anyone to believe in God or that He loves them, you still can't just go around telling them that He's real and that He loves them, No one would ever believe that unless they opened their heart to believe it. Speak God's love but "Let whomsoever will come, come" Don't ask them to come, let them choose to come, and choose to listen.

I like to say thanks for the tip. By evangelizing, I still need to work on my basics. What you say is true and I appreciate the thought. In a way I feel like I'm forcing people to hear God's words. This guild isn't perfectly established but if you have any ideas, it will be wonderful if you share some. The thing is we hardly use our mission thread and it haven't updated anything so far. Now I guess we are looking for alternatives on how to reach out to people without shoving the Word in their faces. If you have any questions PM me or any mods. I have been busy in my exams so I'll be a little slow. I'll take your word for it.

Thanks,
Jo

People choose to come here for whatever reason. But yeah, I agree we shouldn't shove anything down anyone's throats.

I don't see how telling some one God loves them as pushing savaltion down their throats. Now I can see hounded them is. After all, John, the cousin of Jesus, stood in the water where most of the traffice crossed. He was on what was the interstate of that day telling people to repent. Do you have any scripture to back up your claim?

Now if you want to talk about forced savlation, that happen in the church far more then on the streets. I've seen more force to Chirst out of fear of Hell or guilt trips and not out of the Holy Spirit calling them.

It sounds more like man's way that the church has been doing lately and not YHWH's. In the book of Acts, they praised Him in the themple(church) and went into the streets to tell people about Jesus. After all, Irsael was placed at the cross roads of the world so travelers would have to go through it and hear about YHWH and His word.

Good for you, dearie. I'm glad There are still those that don't believe in forcing their morals, values, or beliefs on other people. Many, many christians over the years have tried to convert me to christianity. However, their one and only tactic seemed to be fear. I've been told over and over, by friends, family, and just about everyone else, that if I didn't accept Jesus as my lord and saviour I would burn in Hell for all eternity. That's literaly what they've been saying since I was about 4 years old. Really, what kind of person would tell a 4 year old child that they were going to burn in hell? I'm thouroghly sick of evangelists trying to scare me into beleiving in their god. I think the point you made was brilliant and I comend you for it. Thank you for being so considerate and open-minded.

True many have try the scare tactic but that is not how Jesus did it. We are to go out unto the world and tell people not wait for them to come to use. Jesus went places and to areas where he would meet people. If you want to know how to evangelize, look to Jesus for that answer. John, Jesus' cousin, just told people to repent for the Kingdom of YHWH is at hand.

screeming at people and shoving it down people's thoats or just talking to yourself aren't the only ways to evangelize. there are many ways.
