Got life changing tales that happened at church camp or some other similar event? Post them here.

The most amazing thing that happened to me was on the last night of camp. I'm in this little group made up of three other guys. We call ourselves M.I.C.E. Mighty In Christ Entertainers. We perform skits and stuff like that. So anyway. They had an altar call the last night of camp and one of us went up to pray. I went up and prayed for him and when he got up he was crying a little as were the two other members. I went back to my seat. I felt like they were much more connected to each other because they've known each other since they were five or so. So I was kind of feeling left out. Then another one of my friends went up to pray and by the time I noticed hi and made my way up, he had finished and gotten up and went back to his seat. So, trying not to look like a dork I acted like I was just going to go sit, well stand actually, with the rest of M.I.C.E. A few moments later our youth leader came up to us and said he would like to pray for us at the altar so we all went up and he prayed for us. He prayed for our group and how great we were and how he hoped that we would surpass his abilities. And just by what he said in his prayer, I knew I belonged with everyone else. It was amazing knowing that God cares about the worries of some teenager and was willing to dispel them.

My camp was the first place that challenged me to think on my own about how i felt about the bible, and about God, and about the world. We'd have 'quiet moments' after breakfast and before our morning worship. we would take our bibles and a sheet of paper and go to our favorite places, away from everyone. I'd go down a small path and when no one was looking cut behind a tall oak with rotted limbs. i'd walk for 40 steps (about) and then sit down on this rock and be at a little stream. You'd read the passages for the day and then answer questions. They were meaningful, and you didn't have to write anything down, or you could ask God questions. That was the first time i knew it was ok to have different opinions about God, and about what He did or who He was. No one got the same answers, we all talked to him, and understood things differently, but when asked the moral of the passages, we could all easily grasp it. It was amazing to see that i could have an understanding of the world, through his eyes, but have it be different from another Christains... but have that be ok.

I'll write more later.

Last year at camp we had quiet time and I didn't fully appreciate it. This year we don't and I really needed soe time alone, but I just couldn't get any. But I'm not that upset about its replacement. They extended morning devotion which were very enlightening.
