I have done quite a bit of reasearch on the subject when I figured out I was Fae-kin and it came to my attention that many vampires and therians dont believe we (otherkin) really exist, what Is your opinion on the subject?

Yeah... I don't really have a place to talk if it's opinions on dragon-kin...
I will say that there are others out there that are questionable, but I don't outright think that they are lieing, just as I hope people don't do when I talk.
Fae-kin? I know someone that's claiming to be fae kin... She said there was no way I could be a dragon-kin. sweatdrop (Kind of makes me wonder where she got that from... I think she said something about I don't have the right "personallity" or "atributes"... confused I don't think she thought of it that much. (As in... everyone is different, and I mean everyone.))

I don't know where a vampire or therian could get off telling an "otherkin" they don't exist, without being a total hypocrite. I mean, it's all about what you are on the inside, what your soul is like.
I'd say the most ready argument for a therian to not believe in otherkin is that the animals in their case are proven to exist. Faeries and dragons, for example, are not. But then again, think about it. Everyday, we find some new species that was previously not known to exist. So how can they say that fae and dragons are imaginary beyond the shadow of a doubt?
I'm of the opinion that people should just get off their high-horse and let other people believe what they believe, especially when it's a belief about themself. Because, honestly, who knows a person better than themself? For goodness' sake, if I don't know who I am, no one does. See what I mean?

Well as tht was very well said, as I have come to expect from you. But I must say that I have known someone that was Fea-ki and vampire, another who was therian, another friend who was full fea-kin. As myself being I am not totally sure anymore. But so yes I know that there are many different types of kin out there. Thats why we all fit into the othrkin category. Whether it be be from therian to dragonkin to fea kin to vampires alike. We are all otherkin...

We are all otherkin... 3nodding Another good point. Due to the deffinition of what an otherkin is, we are all otherkin in some form of thinking, at least. Those that are vampires, without relating to something else that's not 'human' might be seen as not falling under the otherkin heading, but in my personal view, they do. Having said this, I still think it's silly for one of the people mentioned in the first post to say that fae-kin don't exist, and it's even sillier for them to say that otherkin don't exist. Especially if it's a therian saying that. For they are still otherkin. Therian is simply a less general term.

Well ..I have always known in a way..I just never had a name for it. I have always been close to nature and for my enitre life I felt like something was missing. Then all of a sudden things just fell into place. I first foung out that I was I psi vamp (My awakening was REAlly unpleasent) Then I was made aware of the existance of otherkin..And things just fell together.

Not really in my case... ninja Long story short, the first otherkin site I found, I just sort of thought "huh", and that was pretty much it. Didn't read on it till later on. biggrin

THAT's why I liked vampires more than other people." etc etc. But I'm interested, Cecelia... besides being close to nature, what other specific things made you realize you were fae-kin?

It has a lot to do with spiritual energy. When I was young I already knew what I was, I didn't question it, it was a sort of inborn knowledge.(this is going to sound a little odd) Every night before I would fall asleap I would hear I little bell and someone whisper "goodnight". Then when I got older I started questioning It. I told myself that my knowledge was really an elaborate childs game and soon I forgot all about it. Then about a year ago (im not crazy really im not) I started hearing the bell again. I also began to hear nature voices ,as I call them. I would go outside and the world would speek to me. I thought I was going crazy at first but then I realized what they were trying to tell me. I had vivid dreams about fairies and myself as one of them. I even learned songs in a strange language. After a while I accepted it...then I found you guys..and I finally had a name for what I was.

That's how a lot of us start out. another thing- as a vampire and kitty-kin, I have night vision, super-sensitive smell sensitive hearing, and balance. Do you have any powers or abilities as a fae-kin? (I dislike the word 'powers'-makes us sound like D&D players.)
