So I've been thinking I might get a longboard. But I was just wondering if it's worth it?
Cause I'm just looking for something for easy transportaion because I have to get to school and it's a pretty long walk, with no ride. There's also no bus routes because I'm one, outside of the district by a bit and two no city transit goes down there because it's on the outskirts of the city.
The only problem is I don't have job, and it's 240 bucks. Would it be a good investment to buy one? (Just to say, I'm 14 so driving isn't an option)

s**t man that is some a** raping of your wallet right there. Look for a clean sector nine complete deck. It should just run you no more than $150. Also the deck doesn't really matter, its about the truck/wheel/bearing setup.

Hmm... I recommend Sector Nine also. I have a Samoa Pintail, and its great. I wouldn't recommend the standard bearings though. I'd say see if you can pick up some Abec 7's or abec 9's. As long as you aren't riding through sand and dirt, your board will fly for days off one push. I'm all about speed when it comes to longboards, cuz then your power carves get idstance... plus its a great travelling tool. Check out their boards... http://www.sector9.com/2006/

Looks like some great stuff. The only problem that I live in Alberta and they.... don't. ^_^;;
But if I were going to get that before mentioned board from Research Gravity Sports would it be any good? Like is it complete crap to those sector 9 boards?
Well actually the easy way to put it. On a a scale of 1-10 what would you give it?

I've ridden others and i just have to say sector nine is optimal when it come to quality. As for the board your aiming for, I'm not sure. I've never rode one confused , but its looks pretty chill. But if you can get your hands on a sectorn nine via internet or something that would be mt number one recomendation.

I can't get Sector 9 one cause of two reasons. Since it would be my first longboard, I wouldn't need to go all out and get the best possible board in the world. Just a good one. And two, my parents are weird with ordering. Research gravity is the closest place to my city, which means to them, it's the only place. I can't get it from anywhere farther.

where in alberta do you live near? if you're anything near edmonton, they have quite a few decent skate shops all over town, one that i can think of off the top of my head is one on whyte ave that had a decent looking selection of longboards if just from what i could see as i was walking by.
calgary as well should have a fair bit of selection going on though ive never board shopped in calgary.
anywhere like lethbridge, medicine hat, or red deer you might have a little more trouble finding anything really worth while, but even in medicine hat they have the boarding house which despite the fact they will rape your wallet, as far as i know they'll order in damn near anything you can find if it's possible.
