Okay, me and my friends have always said 'Plah-SEE-bo'.
But my buddy Grant's dad INSISTS that it is 'pahls-bo'/'pauls-bo' or 'place-bo'.
So, guildpeople.
How do you pronounce it?
What IS the exact pronuncuation of it anyways?
What other freaky ways have you heard people say it?

yep, that's it. Watch about any interview and they'll mention the band's name. Or listen to Flesh Mechanic. Cause Brian's like "Placeeeeeeebo" half way through.

Somehow I was transferring music to my brother's mp3 player and some Placebo got on there and he ended up pronouncing it 'place-bo' and I nearly beat him razz Plah-see-bo.

I always thought it was common sense to say 'plah-SEE-bo'. I mean, I just figured, since it's a real word and all and it's not THAT rare.

I thought so too, but apparently it isn't. My friend's dad didn't even know what she was talking about when she first mentioned them. He started laughing at their name because he thought she meant 'placenta'.
Plus, maybe it's hard for non-english speakers to figure out. I know I mispronounce a hell of a lot of french words.

xd This thread made me laugh. I made a button of them, and my friend Teresa saw it on my school bag and was like "Who's Place-bo?" and I started laughing a lot.
