are you for or against Israel, not as history, but as a modern nation?
i realize the jews have been perribly persecuted and understand why they want a homeland.
but they react out of all proportion to every threat or grievance.
if hamas is elected in Gaza, they bomb and raid and kill civilians and arrest elected leaders without charges.
if two soldiers are kidnapped, they kill hundreeds oif civilians and blame terrorists and the non-terrorist citizens of the neighboring country.
"Lebanon should control Hezbollah, or else they can expect more innocent casualties such as at Qana" spout Nobel peace prize winner Shimon Perez.
and how are they supposed to do that when their army outposts have been bombarded, and their radar, and their roads and bridges and telecommunications?
so i am reluctantly against Israel.
let them live up to their calling to be "a light to enlighten the gentiles".
otherwise they do not deserve the extraordinary support America has always given them.

The whole israel thing really aggravates me. I think both sides are acting stupid. razz However, I tend to be more against than for Israel, just because their reactions are so over-the-top.

now we have "peacekeepers" from the UN in southern Lebanon.
if they are really to keep peace they should be able to control BOTH sides, not just Hamas.
therefore they should have bazookas, rpg, and anitaircraft...
but they don't
