Ok, I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. So maybe someone here can give me a logical answer;

Aang dies, is reborn (water), dies, reborn (earth), dies, reborn (fire) dies, THEN WHAT!?! He’s the LAST airbender!

...Duh as most tv shows go when it comes to the next air bender there will an air bender born some where or Aang will stop the final evil and the Avatar won't have a place in the world anymore.

Well, at the Comic Con it talked about how--
North + South= male airbenders
East + West= female airbenders

Since, Aang has probably only known of the northern and southern air temples (being a guy) there still might be the eastern and western air temples still not found by the Fire Nation.

Hence new generations of air benders and new Air Nomad Avatar.

That only helps my theory

There are other airbenders though. It's just that they are extremely rare. Like the woodsy little witch in the trading card game, who is secretly an airbender. 3nodding

Aang's just the last known airbender.

I don't know if we should count tie in stuff like the Cinemanga and the Cardgame.

However sooner or later they will have to address that problem. IMO the redneck Water Benders in the EArth kingdom were introduced solely to make the eventually return of the Air Nomads more believable.

I doubt Aang will encounter any fully trained Airbenders but sooner or later he's got to meet atleast a few potential airbenders. Setting up for him eventually rebuilding the Air Nomads after the war. Since I doubt Aang on his own can father enough Decendants to create a viable society.

My bet is on book three Aaang encountering Decendants of the Air Nomads.

I agree, you've got a really good point.

Besides, it would make sense, seeing as the first book was Water, the 2nd Earth, and I'm guessing the 4th will be Fire, that leaves Air to be to most likely 3rd book.

3rd is Fire.

Avatar was concieved from the Begining to be a Three Book Story.

I imagine if by some chance the show gets renewed for a fourth Season it will be Air and Will deal with rebuilding the world. After all even after the Firelord's defeat there's going to be alot stuff to do.

I agree with the theory that there may be a few unknown airbenders out there, but no one has realized that if Aang has kids later in his life, one or more of them could be airbenders. They, in turn, produce more airbenders.

3nodding They just need to start making babies.

I really doubt Aang can father enough kids to restart the nation. Since the odds are good only a few would be air benders. I just can't see him and his kids repopulating an entire society. Unless he takes an insane number of wives and manages to knock all of them up several times.

well, i thought about that, and i thought that maybe if he is the last airbender, he would still be born as one.

I have two theories for this.

1. Aang is going to have kids. If you think about it, even if each of the other Avatars live to 75 years old (average life-span for us), that's 225 years to repopulate the Airbender nomads before the next Airbender Avatar.

2. If Aang dies before he has kids, I figure someone will find some Airbending scrolls or possibily learn from scratch from the Flying Bison all over again.

Uh, Aang doesn't have to father 100 kids or anything. His kids will have more kids and they'll just multiply over the generations. So, like MageNegi said, after about 225 years, there will be enough for someone to be the next air-bending avatar.

There is no garuntee that all of Aang's kids will be Airbenders. If he truely is the last person alive with Air Nation blood in his veigns then he has to interbreed with another Nation. That gives the kid a 50/50 chance of inheriting Air Bending or Water/Eath/Fire Bending. (provided bending is genetic to each people) There's also the possibility of any kids of Aang being non benders. We know from Canon that Non Benders and Benders can show up in the same family. And with each generation the blood would get thinner unless they turned to inbreeding which while it would help sure up the Air bender Genes it'd also eventually lead to other issues Since when you inbreed you double the good genes and the bad genes. So while a few instances of inbreeding won't produce flipepr babies if they have to dit heavily there will be consequences.
