I know it's been done in nearly every forum ever, but it's amusing to see what people would want and why.
Of course you can't just say "godlike powers" because that's like saying "I wish for more wishes" which is CHEATING!
So, what 3 superpowers would you have and why?
(Keep in mind the down sides, like mind reading, would you be able to help yourself and would you REALLY wanna know what people thought about you?)

1) I would like to be able to fly, down side airplanes
2) I would like to have the ability of super speed, so I could get the laundry at work done faster, down side............I can't think of one mrgreen
3) I would like to be able to since danger ( like spiderman's spidy since), Down side well if I had all three there wouldn't be a down side to this one blaugh

1) Telekinesis, it'd be SO SO useful to be able to ******** with objects using just my mind!
2) Teleport, of course it'd come with the ablity to NOT appear inside a wall or something else that'd kill me! I also figure this would be as good as flying...
3) Shape shift. I'd prank the hell out of everyone!!!!! Also I'd be toned as hell just by thinking about it! "Oh my god, it's Nikki from big brother! Wait a min she has a c**k!!!! OMG!!!!" haha pwned nikki you f**king annoying b***h!!!!!!!
I'd also like to be able to;
control minds
walk through walls (no clipping)
only die when i decide my time was up, then i'd have to do some kinda gesture so that i don't just get depressed one day and die, or accidently kill myself

1) I would like superspeed. I'm a very impatient person. This is the one ability I've wanted since I got my hands on my very first comic book. The downside is that, with my luck it would also speed up aging and the likes and I'd be an old woman by 25. (Can you tell that in addition to being impatient I'm also paranoid?)
2) The ability to control the temperture around myself. My air conditioning died a couple of days ago. This has made me greatly appreciate my air conditioning. The downside being that I'd probably freeze someone or accidently give them heat stroke if my temp was fluctuating like it usually does when I'm sick.
3) To be a shapeshifter. I'd want Mystique style shapeshifting so that I could literaly be anyone or anything at the drop of a hat. I'm not saying I want to be blue when not pretending to be someone else. I'm just saying I want to never be in a hurry to change clothes and do my hair and makeup again. The downside being that I'd be tempted to pretend to be someone I know and it would blow up in my face when they found out what I'd done.

I think I would like the following abilities:
Telepathy- I would love to read peoples minds. And given how I could care less how people feel about me, because I am me and if you don't like it, well you can just die. That wouldn't be a downside. I think for me the downside would be, wondering if I should stop certain people from jumping off the building...
The ability to grow webs between my fingers and toes/gills- I am an aqua baby. I love the water, it takes so much to get me out of the water. With this, I could have 10 times more fun than I normally do. Downside....Sharks and killer whales.
Finally,
The ability to control water/ice- I would love to be able to control ice, to make it anywhere at any time.

Hmm. Probably a healing factor, like Wolverene (downside: would likely heal over any pericings or tattoos o.o)
Shape shifting, so that if I was considered a vigilante for my superheroing activities, I could vanish into a crowd.
Annnd . . . probably flying ^.^ Know that's a cliche answer, but who *doesn't* want to fly? ^.^

Definitely shapeshifting! Obvious reasons and no downfall I can foresee.
Telekinisesis then I wouldn't have to carry heavy objects or get up to find the remote control!
and the last one I thought might be flying or invisibility, but as a shapeshifter I would be able to morph some wings or morph into an object in the room thereby feining invisibility.
then I thought about mind reading but, well obviously I probably don't want to know what people really think because then I would feel some need to react to it.
So, a superpower I would think would be my 3rd choice would be the ability to communicate with animals (is that a super power?). Like the BeastMaster.

telekiniseis sounds good,i could have real fun scaring people with "moving"objects.
also being able to communicate with animals would be a good one,i have often wondered what they were thinking
finally i guess i would go for super speed,that might come in handy

1. Supersucking - to be able to suck the tonsils out of boyfriend's mouths. Has the added bonus of making it hard to get rid of me when i scare you off!
2. Claws - compliments the super-sucking doncha know. Also useful for a variety of household tasks
3. Telepathy - to read boy's minds so that I can tell when they are going to run before they run!

Hmmm . . . usually I see a request for your favourite power- not the top three. Lets see here.
1) True invulnerability. Nothing, and I mean nothing could harm you physically. Not bashing, not slashing, no piercing, no cutting, not energy . . . not even the ravages of time. To me, aging is a form of physical harm. Inevitable and inexorable, it happens. If you are to be truly invulerable, kept safe from any harm.
The downside? Watching all that you care for rot and erode into nothing. After so long, the cynisicm would begin to take over your heart and eventually turn you into something that makes the Batman look like a hippy. Though I enjoy the darker aspects of the world, sooner or later you would lose that which makes you you.
2) Manifestation. Take your dreams, your desires, even your thoughts and give them form. Concentrate hard enough, and make those creations permanent. The ability to reshape the world around you into your desires, be it armour for yourself, a weapon, hiding a door, even just opening a shallow pit for a friend to fall into face first. The possibilities are endless on this power.
Unfotunately, this power must be cautiously controlled. A stray thought made manifest could be disasterous. A particularly nasty nightmare would devastate the world around you if strong enough. Without massive willpower, a great deal of self-control, or both, you would be a risk more than an aid to anything or anyone.
3) Time manipulation. Why expend the energy of running super fast when you can just go faster than the world around you? No need to wait forever for something- just slow yourself down until the time passes that you need. Hell, if you screw up, just reverse time's flow and undo the mistake. Temporal mechanics are a favoured story tool of mine, even if overused. The trick is to only affect small-scale things. The larger an event you change, the greater it's domino effect.
And that is the downfall. Change the wrong thing, and a spiral is created of cataclysm. Avoid an accident, save a life, rob a bank . . . don't think of assasinations or ruling the world. Such aims only lead to disruptions that even time manipulation cannot stop. Plus, no matter how much you change your travel through time- YOU still age. Sure you can slow down the world and live forever, but it shall be as a statue. You can constantly speed things up for some reason. But as the years pass, you shall age much faster than the world around you because by speeding yourself up, the world goes for one year, you might age three or four.
Everything exacts a toll.

Heal
There are so many people around me who have serious health problems. Wish I could just touch them and make them well. Downside: as soon as people found out, I'd never get any rest.
Create (as in make food and water appear out of nowhere)
I'd love to just end starvation. Could it cause greed among people who would suddenly be able to hoard?
Energy
Hmm... eliminate need for fossil fuels by filling fuel cells with my superpower. Get electricity to third-world communities. Stuff like that. Can't think of a downside.

My three super powers... hmm does Batman's money count? biggrin I like some of the ideas up there. Esepcially when used to mess with people's heads. Power 1: The ability to shoot flames from my enemies. The best part of this is that everyone will likely start shooting at the guy shooting fire at them, not at me! There is a major downside to this though: The temptation to use it whenever I need a little entertainment, or when someone cuts me off in trafic. Power 2: Echolocation. I would love to be able to move around in complete darkness without having to worry about having a big a** light saying "Here I am!" when I am making fire shoot out of one guy and at the others. Power 3: Err the other two are pretty high level so I probably need a throw away power... This aught to work!

I'd like to be able to close my eyes, and visualize myself somewhere else, and be there! I'd go to Hawaii every afternoon, during winter. And spend weekends in all the places I've ever wanted to go - with the benefit of sleeping in my own bed at night!
I'd like to be able to mentally flick people. If someone is acting like a jerk, I'd just give them a flick, and they'd feel the wrath of my knucklethump on their forehead! This would apply to anyone I liked, including racist movie stars, lying politicians, unruly children on the Internet, my cat when she's clawing the carpet... The imagination runs wild!
Absolutely unlimited understanding and ability to speak any language on Earth! I would be able to read, speak like a native, and listen. It would be amazing to be on the bus, listening to some fellow tourists gossip about you, secure in the knowledge they won't be caught, and then to turn around at the end of the line, look them in the eye, and say, "Lovely day, what? Had a good natter, did you? So what are your plans for tomorrow? I've had such a wonderful time with you today, I would absolutely adore spending more of it with you!" And watch their jaws drop, as you saunter off the bus.

Mine are pretty practical.....
MIND CONTROL - The ability to select people at random and order them to strip upon command. (Wait, I can almost do that now)
SIZE MANIPULATION - Why bother being bullet proof when you can make yourself soo big a bullet seems like a proton. (Not to mention the other obvious reason.)
SUPER SWEAT - My body would secrete the most powerful love potion known on earth. (And it would smell like ck1)
