does anyone remember their first time watching zim? i do. here's my story:
when i first saw the ad for it on tv it didn't interest me. at the time i was too interested in seeing the fairly oddparents (ok please don't kill me i was 9 at the time). so i wasn't a fan of zim since day one.
when i went to nashua, NH around halloween, i stayed at the sheraton hotel which had nickelodeon on the tv. this was when halloween spectacular of spooky doom was first airing. i was watching nick that night and i wanted to stay up later so i used zim as an excuse. i didn't care for zim at the time, but if it was my way of staying up later i thought i'd give it a shot. after i saw that episode, i became a fan for life.
so that's my story. now let me hear everybody else's!

My brother first was into it...and i didn't care for it as well...because it was something that my brother liked. But then he showed me the first episode and i watched it with my bf at the time...and then...i was hooked...also the fact that my bf at the time liked it as well kinda brought me into it. And now i nearly have all the episodes instead of a few... whee

*Dakes a deep breath and pauses* Nope. Nothing. I do remember watching the earlier few episodes years ago... but I didn't totally love it until I found it again just a few months ago. I have the complete box set now. I think the first episode I saw was dark harvest. My sisters friend loved the show at the time so when he came over we watched it.

I remember the first time I watched it, at first it was weird. It was the episode where Dib is trying to get his dad to sign a permision slip. At first I thought "whoa, this show is freaky," (in a good way) and then I loved it. When I figured out when it came on, I watched it all the time, so know Im a worshiper of Dib!

MY story? Well, I was living in San Diego at the time, channel surfing, when I came across this weird show. The only line I remembered for years was the hopeless realisation that "Ohhh...I'm a taco..."
That's right. My first experience with Zim was the Chickenfoot episode, and we all know that Zim doesn't even show up in that one!
Later, my dear brother's fiance brought her Zim tapes with her to Yuma, Arizona (where I now live). She turned us on to Zim, and we scoured the Internet for all things GIR (Hey, the lovable SIR was what hooked us on the series for all time).
Then I saw the Chickenfoot episode on DVD, and I realised that, "Hey! I've seen Zim before! Why didn't I think of it before!?"
And there's my story of how I pledged my allegiance to the Irken Empire. I now sing the Doom Song to any melody or real music. I plan to pummel every year in the name of Zim. I bought the Mega GIR set for my friend Seanchai, who stuffed the doggie suit with cotton and made it into a plushie. We have a lone heretic in the house, who we hope to convert eventually.
