The Celestial Maiden was a princess of the moon who was once trapped in a staff of bamboo. She was until one day, a bamboo cutter set her free. He and his wife raised her in their home as if she were one of their own children. When it came time for her to seek marriage, however, she grew sad for she knew that her time left on this Earth was coming to an end. Many tried to please her with gifts of the rarest calibur, but still, not even the most reagl of gifts from the crowned prince himself.
She then looked to where the moon lied and headed towards it when the light of darkness came. She left behind her greatest gift to the Earth, the gift of the wolven kind. From that day forth, wolves howled to the moon, in hopes that their cries and calls would reach the Lady of the Moon would answer back to them some day.
