'Mako Iwamatsu, the voice actor of Uncle Iroh, passed away from cancer on the 21st' gonk crying crying crying BUT, he had recorded all of season 2 already....so we'll just hafta c what the writers do for the 3rd season
i really hope they find someone with a similar voice, b/c not only will avatar fans b sad with Iroh gone, but think of poor Zuko! hed be a complete and total wreck w/o Iroh. like, he'd really hit rock bottom...n i cant stand to think of that. sad
sum ppl dont want to see iroh w/ a diff voice, n i understand...but if they do kill off Iroh, Ursa shud come back...that would keep Zuko from dying of depression emo
REST IN PEACE MAKO<3333 truely, a wonderful talent

I wrote this eulogy in an IM memorial for him...
--- Though I didn’t know of Mako until I saw Avatar, and I didn’t even know about his contributions to the Asian American community untill about a month before last friday… Once I saw Uncle Iroh for the first time, I could immedietly see the strong devotion and effort he put into him… Almost every time Iroh was on screen it could always put a smile on my face even when I felt terrible, whether he was taking care of his nephew, in the middle of an epic battle scene, or simply drinking his tea… To me, the voice behind the character is what brings them to life and determines how they are seen… And I think no one could have, and I’m sure no one can bring him to life the way Mako did, nor could anyone have brought Aku to life the way Mako did… As an aspiring voice actress, he has been a wonderful inspiration to me, and he will be for the rest of my life… I’ll always remember him, and I hope everyone else will as well....
*raises her cup of jasmine green tea* To Mako! ---

Well if they kill of Iroh then Zuko will probably join up with the Avatar and teach him firebending. Then they will defeat the firelord together. That's a possibility.

I cant belive this is actually happening. There is no way something like this could happen. OH my gosh!!!! OH no not the voice of Uncle Iroh. He is so perfect there can be no one else that does it as well as him. He brought the spirit to Uncle Iroh. I want someone to tell me its a practical joke. Please somone tell me that you are trying to fool us. Maybe the site was wrong. Maybe he can still be alive!!!!!He cant be dead..............................................

Koboshi_7 i heard about that! waaaaaaaaaaaaaa crying it's miserable!!!!! i hate that!!! but i wouldn't be able to stand a new voice for iroh. i love him, but i think he needs to die. I aggree. It would be too painfull to try and cope with a new voice. It would be like all of Uncle Iroh's personality would be sucked out. I would rather he die heroicly with one voice actor and help advance the plot. cry
