wahmbulance Hey this has been bothering me for awhile and I know I shouldn't be badmouthing Shonen Jump since this is a guild about it but there is one thing that is ticking me off about Shonen Jump in America and its the fact that we only get a montly version of it. In Japan they have Weekly Jump, Super Jump, Ultra Jump, V Jump, Young Jump, and a whole other butt load of manga magazine under Jump Comics with much manga titles and I think a majority of them are weekly. So why can't America have a weekly magazine with all the manga that is out there?
Also with the amount of manga they can licesons why do we have to wait so long for the montly graphic novels? They ain't gonna run out of manga that quickly. wahmbulance

Anywho yes it's bothersome. My top hatred is what I call "sitting on liscense". Where they'll liscense something so online downloads become illegal than not come out with the volumes forever sheesh. Example Gintama and D. Gray-man albeit they finally got the freakin' first volume of that.

I've always had this theory that they send out spies to check online to see which manga is popular and then the license it just to torture the poor, unfortunate fans who can't read Japanese or Chinese. Shonen Jump is going to start running Gintama, apparantly

They look at how popular the fan sub is and based on that they might or might not licesons it. I think they did that with School Rumble and some other anime.

That makes sense, the major company makes big money off of what used to be free. And because it's popular when it's free, why shouldn't it be popular when it's not free.

hmm...I'm from an asian country and we have something SIMILAR to shonen jump. It comes out once a month with a couple of chapters like the way Anime Ninja said......only it's in chinese and another's in my native language...both of which I'm not fluent in crying
I've never seen the actual Shonen Jump though... We have Shoujo Beat in some major bookstores like Kinokuniya but that's way too expensive thanks to our weak exchange rate... stare *grr...*

Yes thats it....Buwahahahhaa.... Yeah, I get thrilled all the way from my hair down to my toes when they show a preview of my favourite mangas involving more than just one chapter, or when they show three chapters of anything in the magazine. But I agree, we need more. A mob is a fabulous idea. biggrin
