I'll start, I guess. sweatdrop
A little over a year ago, Dez bought me a tarot deck. It was the Sacred Rose Tarot. She got it because she used to have it and she thought that it was a great deck.
So I fell in love with it instantly and became almost obsessed with it. I connected and started doing readings for myself and Dez. Dez says I have a natural gift for tarot readings. I did that for a couple of months, and then slowly became inactive. Then it was like I used them once in a blue moon for a while. But about a month and a half ago I became more active with them again. I use them everyday now.
I occasionally use them for spells. Right now I am more focoused on my psychicness and tarot ability/union then spellwork right now. Just before I got back in to tarot it was the other way around! I am going to find a way for me to incorperate everything into everything, but right now it's just so hard. sweatdrop

I'm familiar with tarot. I sort-of-kind-of unintentionally collect them. I have... twelve? decks. My favorite tarot to use is the Celtic Wisdom tarot, even if the cards are just a leeeetle bit too big for comfort. They're very pretty. I've done some great readings with this deck. It feels very special. It was like the world moved when I got this deck - like falling in love.
My favorite not-tarot deck is Brian Froud and Jessica Macbeth's Faerie Oracle. I think I work with it so well because the meaning of the cards aren't as "set" as with regular tarot decks. No major/minor arcana etc. The cards have their in-book meanings, but they also mean what I want them to mean - you're encouraged to find your own meanings. The connections between the cards in the readings are much clearer to me with this deck, than with any others.
My best friend has the Sacred Rose tarot, also. She collects tarot cards, too, and it's her absolute favorite. A kid I knew in college swore by it as well.
I've become inactive lately. I used to do readings once in a while, but I'd play with the cards - shuffle them, look at them, just hold them, fiddle around with them - all the time. Maybe I'll play with them tonight. Do a reading and tell you what it tells me, eh? smile
Several times now, I've started putting together my own deck... I know that it's the only way I'll ever feel fully aware of the cards. I designed the border back in high school and started a few of the pictures, but.. It's fizzled away onto the back burner over the years. Someday...

yeah, now i have cat tarot that my *teacher* gave me and i have... um, oh yeah, sacred garden or something... i never keep the boxes. my mom used the same deck when i was little, so it's the first i ever used. i bought a copy of the same deck for myself about two years ago i suppose... i don't think it was longer than that. but yeah sweatdrop . it's a beautiful deck... oh, i think it's called tarot of the sacred moon garden!!! but i'm still not sure. anyways. i do readings for friends when i worry about them and they can't literally talk about their problems, but i don't do it as often as i once did. i feel like i don't have time anymore.

I have a deck that my grandmother gave to me, they're really old and sit in a purple silk bag in my chesterdraws. I'm learning their meanings and how to interperate them now.

Some how I ended up w/ a deck and 2 books on it, I just haven't the time to devote to learning them, and personally I like the runes better.. I have a wonderful set that I've had almost a year now, when ever I'm having a bad day I can just stir them in the back and the sound soothes away my worries (that and my bf is wonderful at calming me) To be quite honest, I'm spending my time on my herb books rather than on the tarot, tho somehow I ended up w/ a pretty good, never used deck.. Waite I think it was.. maybe.. yea.. that sounds right.. I'll learn eventually, but my plants come first ^^
