So, anyone still going to music festivals this summer? Or did you already go and want to share your memories with us (if you have any, that is... wink ) Write down stories here from the festivals you've been to.
I myself am going to Wacken this year, and there are some great bands there. Hope it'll be fun. smile

I went to the opening of Ozzfest this year, it was awesome. Moshed the ******** out of that thing, was my first real time being in a moshpit. The people there were pretty damn cool, would pick you up when you fell, not exclude smaller people (but not hit you too hard either...I need to work on balance with that...><), but one thing that some guys do not understand is that elbows NEVER go in boobs...was smashed up in the front of the pit when Disturbed was playing and this guy had his elbow there...just about screamed and had to dig my nails into his arm to make him move (I tried telling him, he couldn't hear me though...), it was an awesome concert. Met Disturbed and Lacuna Coil, got their autographs, saw System play, and Ozzy, mainly who I was there for. Missed Dragonforce though, sad...Anybody else going to go to Ozzfest this summer?

I wanna go to OzzFest this year. I was gurenteed to go, but I am visiting family in a different state, and the one where I live is a day before I get home. I will be going if I can convince my mom to let me drive to New York, Massachusetts{sp}, or Virginia.

I wish I lived in Europe, they get good Metal festivals all the time..

Okay, I'm going to share my Wacken experiences here now.
First of all, the festival was great. I had so much fun, saw great bands, met old friends and got new ones and so on. Although I have to admit that getting home was an oblivion, because of:
1) proper warm food!
2) soft warm bed
3) proper shower and toilet
4) hygieny in general
Those were the main things. Scorpions was the first interesting band to play on Thursday, but I have to say that their gig sucked. They didn't even play Wind of Change! Seemed that almost everyone was disappointed with the gig, but oh well. I still had fun time. smile
The next day we saw many many bands. One funny thing was that I actually managed to fall asleep, sitting in my friend's back, during Opeth. xd But only for like 15 minutes or so. It was great to see Opeth, their gig was very good and in spite of the little nap I enjoyed it.
The next day we saw some of the old farts such as Motörhead and Whitesnake, and it was awesome. But being too tired and falling asleep, I didn't see Finntroll, or Subway to Sally, unfortunately. However, I have seen both before, so it wasn't such catastrophy.
All in all, it was really fun. smile

I didn t go to Ozzfest this year. Didnt much care for the lineup. not a big disturbed fan, dont like lacuna coil, hate avenged sevenfold.
I went to the Unholy Alliance tour though ^_^ Slayer, Bodom, Lamb of God, it was insane. I could barely stand up after. The way it's meant to be after any true metal concert!

...luci...lastic... I went to Download! it was awesome! i only went on the Saturday. BUT I SAW METALLICA!!! that was my plan..to just go on saturday. cos i had gcse exams on the friday and early monday mornin so i couldnt make the whole weekend. but saturday tickets sold out. ive never been to download. i really wanna go!!! i bloody hope they dont get filled up with emo bands next year. cos nothing will stop me!! evil

I went to reading fest on the sunday and saw slayer, mastadon and lady soverign haha. Pearl Jam aswell ^_^. I love it, Becuase Its right where I live...and We found 290 cans of unopened beer the next day... domokun

I'm going a few years now to GMM (graspop Metal Meeting) in belgium but I'm dreaming to go sometime to ozzfest that is sometihing i'm dreaming of quite a wile, but ah well let's hope one time it could be possible for me to go razz biggrin

All pretty good, Live8 had a bit too much Indy shite though, but was made better by Pink Floyd
