Bored, its lunchtime, at work so I came up with a quick thread.
Lets have a topic about daily life.

Are you still in school? If so what are you studying/what do you want to do with your life?

If not in school, do you have a job? If so what do you do at your job?

If niether, what do you do? xp

I work at a company called Carolina Power and Performance. I am a product engineer and we are working mainly in research and development on a new prototype marine diesel engine. As the product engineer, I am assigned to take a 3-D model of an engine part and turn it into a real part.

To do this I have a few things I get to work with. I start with a modeling program that will plot points to certain locations that need to have specific work done on them. I then write what is called CNC code for the part. This code is read by a machine that tells a metal cutting tool where to go to cut what. After I load the code into the machine, I put a piece of working material ( usually made of some kind of metal... steel, aluminum,iron) and start the program. A spindle spins a cutting tool at high speeds and pushes the tool back and forth following my code. When it's done I should have a replica of the 3-D model that was first handed to me. Lol, of course, sometimes I have flaws in my code at first and things wont look right or I will run the tool somewhere it's not supposed to be. Usually after one or two runs I can just position the work piece in the machine and push the start button. When I come back a little later it is finished ^_^. It can be very challenging and a lot of fun, but of course very frustrating at times too xd .

So that is what I do 8 hours or more a day, monday through friday. What do you do?

Ermm, lately I've been out of work too. I feel quite useless but I haven't cared enough to get a job. *frowns*

Internet, movies, eating, sleeping, a couple times a week I hang out with friends. domokun

I'm still unemployed. It's been over a month. I'm starting to worry.

I spend every other week working at the student center on campus, also known as mendenhell (or mendenhall if you want to get technical)... Once the summer is over it's back to nursing school for me (arg!!)... but I will be graduating in december hopefully smile ... on my weeks off I usually sleep as late as possible and watch the many series I am now watching, such as farscape, west wing, trigun, Fullmetal alchemist, queer as folk, and movies here and there smile

monday thru friday I go to work at 7pm then I get off at 11pm... then I do whatever I want... maybe its sleep...maybe its sexxor...maybe its videogames... maybe omg gaia... but probably sexxor...hey wait I'm not working now...brb
