Area Descriptions!
The campus. A large, lush area that's mostly composed of forest. It's quite beautiful, having had a spell on it to keep it in a constant late spring/early summer season. The area around the school is far less wild, having things like small gardens and preforming areas within it. The campus is dotted with interesting things! Go explore.
*Note!: You're not required to use one of these areas! Please, if inspiration strikes, make something up. Try to be reasonable, though - if you're not, someone might come by and delete your thread. (So don't put a Chuck E. Cheese on campus, guys : P)
Garden Area with Pond
The rear of the school is mostly forest, but deep in this thick forest is a lovely pond. The pond, more or a lake really, is quite large and has a rather pretty garden around it, making it a great picnic spot for someone who wants to get away from the main campus.
Athletics Field
The athletics field is just what you might expect - a large, grassy field with a 1/4 mile running track (with long and high-jump area in the middle) nearby. Stadium seating sits on the side of the track, letting curous spectators watch running meets and most sports games. The centre of the field is large and convenient enough to have games played on it, you see.
On and around the field are various large goals, some stray cones and balls and some forgotten jerseys. Fairly standard stuff. There's a decently sized shed next to the track where all the sports stuff is kept. It's usually locked up to keep out prying hands. There's also an asphalt basketball court with a chain hoop to let people get out their energy like that if they like.
When no sports teams are practicing on it, the field gets used for pretty much anything. Dance practice, flying games, frisbee, cuddling - all that kind of stuff. When not scheduled, it's free space for the taking!
Amphitheatre
A decent-sized outdoor structure with stadium seating in a half circle, the amphitheatre gets used more for simple relaxation that it does for actual performances, though Hybrid High has had some memorable plays, lectures and dialogs there as well.
The seats and stage are made out of ancient marble, though it's all in pretty good repair. It's certainly safe, and the old stone just gives it a powerful feeling. All in all, quite the find.
Outdoor Food Court
To be fair, it's more like a patio with a large collection of tables on it, but it somehow got the name "food court", and it's stuck. The tables are basic, all weather stone tables with stone benches next to them. Moving the benches is easy if you're fairly strong, but they're certainly heavy. Sturdy and reliable, though. Some of the tables have sun umbrellas, but not all of them. On a hot day, the fights over the umbrellas can be pretty vicious. Those tables are strong, though. They have survived many a student fight in the past, and are apt to survive many more in the future.
The court is open to anyone at any time, but its busiest time is, without a doubt, lunch time.
Disterent Point
There is a place in the forest that can only be reached in a very specific way. There're paths leading there, but even with the paths you can't always find it... You'll know when you're there, though, for the air suddenly turns icey-cold and the land, once lush forest, is now a barren, frozen wasteland. They call the point of change, the whole place itself, simply the Disterent Point.
Make no mistake, though - the place is beautiful in its own way. The cold sun smiles down on the snow and ice, making the place practically glow at times. Ice rabbits, arctic wolves and even some benevolent white dragons make their home past the Disterent Point. The dragons sometimes put on shows for visitors, but they, along with all the other animals past the Point, seem to be pretty friendly - at least towards people. Going past the Point is a good way to study arctic wildlife, and various teachers and students have taken advantage of that in the past.
The Hollow
The hollow is composed of two main areas - the inner ring and the outer ring.
Outer ring:
About 5 miles away from the main school grounds is a huge, circular hole in the ground. It's about a half-mile wide, with craggy rock jutting out of the Earth's surface every which way around it. Just beyond this initial wasteland is a tall cliff, stretching about 300 ft into the sky all the way around. If you want to continue onwards, well, good luck climbing it!
Inner ring:
Looking down from the cliffs that make up the outer ring, you can see a desolate, flat area before you. It's calmer than the outer ring, the rocks less pointy and the ground much more welcoming. The rocks have strange, glossy blue patches on them, though, and beyond them, in the middle of all this, is a crater than emits an eerie blue glow...
Botany "Classroom"
Once you're right next to the water outside the school, bridge begins to form under the water. It rises slowly and surely, forming itself into a sturdy structure. Once you're on the bridge, you can see that the trees in front of you have bent themselves into an odd, unnatural an oval shape... Beyond the trees is... a classroom? At least, that's what you guess it is as the bridge slowly sinks back down and the trees behind you return to their original shapes. The class has tree stumps for desks and chairs. What looks like the front of the class is dominated by a huge, misshapen stump that seems as though it serves as a teacher's desk.
Roxy's Secret cavern
Out in the middle of the forest, near the mountains, a small formation of rocks covers most of a hole in the ground that leads to an underground cavern, named for its discoverers deceased girlfriend, Roxy. In the cavern, there are many stalactites and stalagmites surrounding a meadow like area with a big lake. The light that enters the cavern comes from a hole located on the side of a mountain overseeing the ocean. During the day, sunlight fills the cavern and causes the plant life to flourish. At night, the moon makes the lake shimmer and causes everything inside glow. This makes the cavern a very romantic site, but only one knows about it... for now.
(More areas may be added periodically. It depends on how creative you guys are!)
