Ouch. Well, last night was teh weekly practice we have, And I brought a friend for it. I made teh Mistake of sending a wild hit to his remaining leg with my brothers Sword, which is currently the heaviest sword on the field. So yeah, he's in a bit of pain. However I didn't go without recompense, as I took a full blow to teh chest from one guy I was battling with, and now it feels like my ribcage is goingto pop open at any moment. xp
So discussion, any of you get any "Great" injuries to share?

There was the time I got hit by a car while crossing the street, drove 3 hours, just to LARP.
But at practice? Hmmm...I was at Thalandor (Dagorhir Chapter) practice in MD and there was an undead senario. I was running and twisted my ancle pretty badly in a very large hole. It swelled up pretty big, but I kept playing. Shortly thereavter, someone hit my hand and sprained that pretty good. I ended up having to tape the weapon to my hand.

i got hit in the jaw really hard once and it was knocked slightly out of place for about a mounth. i had quit alot of trouble and pain eating. now when ever i get hit there in battle with even the lightest hit it gose back out of place. it really sucks but it won't stop me from fighting!

On my way to Simterra (the beta LARP), my friend totalled my car. We went to the hospital to get looked at because he kept grabbing his chest and mine was pretty soar as well.....but ended up leaving the place early out of fear we would miss the LARP.

Mhhh injuries and battle scars......
Well lest see i think the worse I've had was the last event i was at, bout a month ago. I was running full bore after some monster thing and ran righ into a tree stump which sent me diving toward them. Needless to say I dove under it's spell packet still managed to drop it, but was unable to get up off thr ground for about five minutes. When I did get up I had to limp to an OOP medic area and miss the rest of the event. Thankfully it was only the last 30 minutes of the whole weekend.
The guy who was playing the monster was surprised I even got up on my own he claimed I took an 8"X2" chunk out of the stump too.
Blasted druids and their nature, You guys just hate us dark knights don't ya. LOL

Ive had a guy twice my hight jump on me from a bank.. he brought his sword down and it smashed my arm in 6 places..... actually.. ive broken both my arms in larp... and i have a broken ankle and went out today ^^ that was fun

if there where injuries like that at swedish larps, the media would be over us in a second, trying to give lrap a bad reputation. There are always a paper or TV-team in any major larp here and if there's an injury they'll tell it ten times worse than it is, The larp and role playing society here have been accused of everything from conspiracy with the devil, to murders, to causing gambling problems in online casinos.
We have LOTS of safety restrictions so nothing will happened, both for the media and for the petitioners health of coerce.
And we do not fight that much, almost nothing compared to you, in our larps and that helps to avoid accidents.
I've never been in a larp related injury but i've witnessed some horrible things. Once i saw an orch getting his scalp ripped off by a broken spear. And a friend of mine once had her horse with her when we played nomads and after jumping over a stone wall, road into a tree and got her leg bend backwards when the tree hit her knee.
But mostly the worst thing is someone passing out of dehydration.

Nastiest thing Ive witness was some poor guy who I was charging with get his foot lodged into a rabbit hole the result was him turning and having his ankle rip apart with part of his bone sticking out
Baddest thing Ive suffered was landing on a back of a tree stump which made a split across my back afterwards I was bleeding a lot didn't notice it until somebody pointed out that my Tabard was turning red

I've turned my ankle several times playing Belegarth.. and have been smashed in the face with a red sword.. not fun. xp
Other than that I've been pretty lucky. I'm hoping for no serious injuries this weekend at Onyx Hollow.

We jokingly say I'm impervious to harm because I've been hit by three cars, a drunk-driving truck, had a 100lb bag of concrete fall on me, and such things like that and have come out with fairly minor scratches or bumps.
The worst "injury" I've had in the game is needing to pop my back after...I think it was Xiao..maybe someone else...In anycase after Someone hit me across the back so hard it broke their sword in half. I just kinda coughed and sat down and rolled my shoulders until the spine popped abit.
Fear me, for I am Z the impervious.....or it could just be that my irish blood (born in Dublin w00t) stops me from feeling pain.
