I remember when I tried questing for a chain wallet... I got to almost 50k when all of a sudden, the prices leaped from 75k to almost 200k. Needless to say, I gave up. I don't know what to make of it, really. Initially, the buyer is very unhappy and the seller is having a field day overpricing, but what are the long-term effects?

Are you for or against inflation?

The major problem i see with the gaia prices is that the demand for serten items goes up when people sing up for gaia and the supply stays the same so it drives the prices way up and fast. The admins should consider rereleasing some items to bring the prices down a bit. I'm not saying rerealse the halo or anything but things like the D-tail and mini's might not be so bad to rerealse....in small amounts

I wish there was some way to dump gold. The marketplace and the ability to resell store-bought items to other players helps ensure that the amount of gold in circulation will increase and that it's value can only decrease. While I think this is awesome considering at this rate in a year I'll probably be able to afford every store/rare/uncommon on gaia, I don't like it.

I would prefer if all the cool stuff got re-released, but that won't happen because it would be unfair to the early users/donaters. A way to dispose of mass amounts of gold however would in theory force a hard cap on prices because there just isn't enough in circulation to charge 100 million gold for anything.

Nay, there actually is that much gold. Prices can't be charted if nobody has enough to support the claim.

Aye, what I mean is, less gold in circulation would force prices to stay reasonable.

I absolutely love gaia's inflation.

The more items inflate, the richer I get.

I have a lot of old donation items, so it's pretty obvious that I'm all for it. Why would I want a whole bunch of ******** having the special items that only myself and a select few others have?

I have tons of old donation items, so it's the only way I can be rich. I don't like the new donation item inflation though- I miss the days when I could get an item for 3k.

The only idiots actually for the inflation are people like Samael there. "I have tons of these items so I can milk you for whatever value I want HARR HARR!!"

I just sold my chain wallet for 50k + a March '05 about a week ago 'cause I'm one of the few people who prices things at my own decent values, even despite having a large list of stuff I want.

Wow, next time you do something like that, Dial 1-800-Uberdell please. ^_^

Nah, I feel you. I sold a pair of Demon horns for 30k last week. I called myself being nice, and I suppose I was, but the fellow I sold them to didn't even send me a thank you PM or anything, and I haven't heard from him since.

So there goes my short-lived fascination with charity. I'll help members of this guild, but the majority of gaians I'm not so interested in helping.

My generosity only goes so far, I don't help strangers or people I don't consider friends. I'll give a discount to someone I don't know but never a huge one, I got fed up with people reselling the item at the normal price.

My interest in the charity I started is pretty much completely faded, I don't think I'll be starting it back up, not any time soon at least. 35k in 3 days? What the ******** was I thinking? If I didn't have so many friends I help out, I could see the point of that, but people are just too damn greedy, I'll stick to donating to friends.

Actually, there is. Shops and NPC events like the dishing out signs of Gambino and the Von Helsons took up a lot of Gaia's goldies, though still, not enough to drive down inflation.

Re-releasing of items is not going to happen, as mods have said in animecons and whatnot.
