I am a big fan of classic rock ranging from late 60's to late 90's. My 2 favorite bands are Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

Floyd is really good to listen to when you are relaxing. The guitar just sings to me. Really good stuff.

"Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness", without that cd I never would have gotten to know my first love.

There's others but I need to think more.

I love anything by Tori Amos for the most part, Delerium, Massive Attack, Portishead, Voltaire, Apocalyptica, Rasputina, Ani DiFranco.

I'm starting to get my feet wet in hip-hop, but the subject matter is often lost on me. I respect the artform however and fave artists include Ludacris, Outkast, anything with a beat by Pharell, etc.

For a lighter side of hip-hop. Check out "MC Chris,"he raps about "Boba Fett", "DQ Blizzards", and all sorts of awesomeness.

I dig classical, but it's even more new to me than hip hop.

Keep it real.

I love instrumentals/orchestras and operas, and I am currently into Andrew Lloyd Webber's and Nicola Piovani's works (I play Webber's 'Phantom of the Opera' CD all the time in my car). I have always loved the classics, the individual, prodigy musicians who dominated their times: Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig von Beethoven, Leopold Stokowski, Piotr Tchaikovsky, and so forth. I connect with this type of music and when I listen I tend get lost in it.

I also enjoy a wide range of music from different cultures. Foreign music is always stirring.

In accordance to more modern music, my favourite band of all time would be Gorillaz -- I am their number one fan. Though I have been to the theatre, I must say that the Gorillaz concert that I attended was -- pardon -- "THE BOMB." They're music really speaks to me, and has always meant a lot to me because of the connections I make, their appeal, and they just play very good music. I have their albums and many posters and other merchandise, and am waiting for their newest CD to come out in May. I also enjoy Josh Groban, Blur and Coldplay, and for the same reasons as I enjoy any other music.

I love PotO! ^^ I listen to it all the time. Another thing that's always playing on my computer is Les Miz songs. I find 'Do You Hear the People Sing' one of the most addicting songs of all time.

Cd's that have been important to my life are pretty vast, The first Live album was something I listened to again and again for a couple of years...
In terms of songs:

-Yatta! the best geek moment in my life... ever!
-Voices- "our song"
-The theme to the legend of Zelda : our wedding march
-anything DDR: my singing in the car songs!

I like The Beatles, Radiohead, Remy Zero, Lifehouse, Coldplay, Oasis, Muse, Alkaline Trio, Incubus, The Postal Service, Nirvana, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Enya, Chevelle, The Goo Goo Dolls, The Cure... without music, life is boring. (I love so many bands, but I can't list them all for lack of room. wink )

"A Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles is a song that I love to sing with my husband. smile

"Battle of Evermore" by Led Zeppelin

Great sounding and the lyrics have some basis from the Lord of the Rings books.

I loved Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness when I was younger. My friends and I would ride around and listen to it for hours while i had my melodramatic breakdowns and stuff. I'm more into Ani DiFranco now, and I haven't had any melodramatic breakdowns for while now. Maybe that's what I'm missing in life.

*ponders*

I've only heard the song "Alice" by the Cocteau Twins, but it's really good. I'll probably download more when I slow down enough to do so. I'm always terribly busy doing something. Even now that I'm unemployed I'm busy doing nothing, and lots of it. With a purpose it would seem. cry

Right now I'm deeply fond of Metric, Claire Voyant, Apoptygma Berzerk's remix of the Front 242 song "Headhunter", and anything that has a haunting, mysterious or plaintively operatic sound.

I had a brief infatuation with Tori Amos' lastest release, titled, "The Beekeeper". The lyrics are amazingly accesible. Her songs are still somewhat complex extended metaphors, but there are less references to myth and religious icions, and often she simply says what she means. I'm not sure if it's good or bad, but it's a welcome change certainly.
