Justin ******** 09-08-04 English and Comp 2
Who am I?
My name is Justin ****** *******. I was born in the state of Maryland. I
grew up by myself, and I lived with my Grandparents for a while. My parents
divorced when I was only 5. My mother moved to Alabama, and my father was
forced to work many hours at a job he hated. We tried to survive as a family
although we only spent the weekends together. As I got older I moved back in
with my father and we lived in the same house that I had always lived in. I
traveled back and forth to my mother's house many times. I attempted to live
with her to patch up whatever relationship a son and mother should have. In
the end I found myself back at my father's living with him. I went though most
of my schooling with my father. Although he wasn't there he still attempted to
provide the best life he knew how. By living on my own I obtained skills that
one normally does not. I learned to cook and sew. I was able to fix my clothes
and my blanket whenever needed. For Halloween I even made my own custom. I
graduated high school with a below average GPA. I did not care much for school,
and I loved to torment my teachers; proving them wrong whenever possible. I
moved to Texas due to my lack of finances. I continued to live with my father
throughout college. I started college with a few new goals; I wanted a family,
and I wanted to be able to give them everything I never had. Though college I
met a female. Her name was Samantha; she was originally from Alaska. She was
unlike any other female I had ever met. I quickly fell in love; unable to
prevent myself from doing anything. After I gradated from college we moved to
Alaska together; she wanted to be with her family and I wanted to have a family.
I had never been there before, but I was always willing to check out a new
location. I applied for a University in Anchorage Alaska; I was accepted. I had
a 3.97 GPA going into the University; meeting new people along the way. Although
the women I loved never left my side. She was there though the thick and the thin.
We got married during my Junior year. As for the wedding... It went as unexpected.
The church had some water damage from a snow storm days before. And it started an
Electrical Fire after I heard "You may now kiss the bride". I was not sure if
something was trying to tell me something or if things where just starting off
with a bang. Two years later our first child was born; I had just started a new
job and we had felt it was time to start bringing life into our world. The
nation had gone into a war; we remained feeling safe because we were separated
from the states. One night, 3 weeks after our second child was born, we heard a
strange noise. It was almost like a gun shot just different. It seemed as if
you could feel a gun shot without it actually hitting you. I thought that maybe
it was just a tornado or a violent hail storm. The sounds continued; frantically
we searched for a radio. We wanted to know what was going on. We heard nothing;
static filling the waves as the sounds continued. Light flared thought the house
hurling bricks thought our window. Holding the baby I was struck in the shoulder.
The baby flew out of my hands and onto the ground. It bounced across the ground
and rolled into a wall. Struggling to my feel I ran to gather the child. It
had short breathing patterns and was not crying. Samantha was holding the other
child, both of them screaming. We ran out of the broken home in fear it would
collapse on us. Getting into a car and attempting to resuscitate the child.
We drove to the hospital and attempted to gain access. It was a nut house
hundreds of people were there. We learned that we had been attacked by Korea;
they had bombed Alaska in attempt to show America their might. I began to get
tired as I worked on our child. A nurse finally came and grabbed the child
from my arms and taking it into the back. My wife followed, but for some reason
I was too tired and stayed with the other child. I dozed off and when I awoke
I could see all that was around me. I could see myself laying there and I
thought I was just dreaming. I panicked trying to wake myself up. I saw
the blood pouring down my back and dripping off the chair. My child was in
my lap laying there head on me for comfort. I could not stand to think that
it would realize I was dead... Everything became black; my reality disappeared
fading off into the distance. I woke up a new. This time I had no idea where
I was at. I walked this land trying to find something that I could familiarize
myself with. And in the end all I found was you... Please help me get back to
all I have lost. Please save me from what I have become.

Wow, that was a really powerful composition. No one but the ones who live through it really know what it is like to be attacked and hurt, to have your loved ones hurt or killed, but it happens every day. This was an intense view into that kind of situation. I hope something as horrifying as this never comes to pass. Good work!
