Even as the sun was slowly going down, you could feel the warmth of the weather. It wasn't like it was so warm that you would go for a dip in the water, or try to fly all the time. It was more like a soft warm kitten. Purring at ever move you made. The light bounced off of the surface of the water and off of a dark blue hippogriff. You couldn't tell from a distance that she had white on her. The trees danced as the wind went through them. The hippogriffs tail flew around wildly from it aswell.
She started to gaze at the placid lake beside her. She didn't know weather or not she should go in and get some fish. She liked starting at the lake, even if she didn't decide. She thought it was best to stay above water until she has her little ones. She could feel herself getting heavier. Even though the time was far from close, she could tell. She smiled at her reflection off the lake. She didn't look all that bad, but you could kind of tell if you've seen her before. She yawned and finally looked away from the lake. Her wings were dragging on the ground from her pure laziness.

Indivar was sitting by the water of the lake, following the little minnows that darted through the shallows with his sky-colored eyes. "Mraak!" he crowed gleefully, almost falling into the water in front of him as he tried to catch a fish with his little beak.
A breeze blew through the valley, sweeping along the still glass-like water of the pond and creating small waves. Indivar looked up to the sky, feeling the pull of the wind and the clouds in his heart and longing to be able to fly. His small downy wings fluttered desperately as he closed his eyes and elongated his neck, trying futilely to take to the air.

Kiyoshi lifted her wings for a moment to turn towards the a little hippogriff. She didn't realized he followed her. She smiled down at the young one. He was so cute. The wind was blowing and puffing his little feathers up even more then normal. She gave off a little giggle and laid down next to him.
"In time, I'll teach you to fly. Little one." She said ever so caringly. She loved the way he looked. The blue was like the day-time sky. He was almost opposite of her, except he had a much different pattarn. He wasn't fully one color. She admired the little grifflet for that. She reached her foot out and pulled him close to her so she could like him.
"My haven't you gotten dirty" She says right before starting the cleaning. She always wanted to be able to clean a little one. It made her feel so motherly, and happy. She smiled as she licked him clean.

Indivar looked gleefully up at his adoptive mother as she began to clean him, taking her all in. She was beautiful. Her feathers were dark blue, and the white speckles around her feet reminded the little baby of the night sky, filled with shimmering stars. Looking down at his own downy feathers as Kyoshi licked him clean, Indivar noticed the resemblance of his own coloring to the daytime sky, scattered with puffy white clouds that he would someday soar among.
He looked up at his adoptive mother -- indeed, the only mother he had ever known -- and smiled. Although the little gryfflet could not speak yet, he was very aware of his surroundings. Mommy, he thought to himself as Kyoshi finished cleaning him, and snuggled into the soft feathers on her stomach.
As he pressed his head to Kyoshi's stomach, he sensed the life that was welling within her. He closed his eyes and blocked out the sounds around him. A new sound that was more like a feeling came to him as he felt and heard the beating of multiple tiny hearts within his mother. All of a sudden he felt a shock -- one of the unborn babies had moved within its forming shell. He leaned back from Kyoshi's stomach and looked up at her, blinking his eyes thoughtfully.
"Braaf!" he squealed, annoyed at the inability of his vocal chords to produce understandable speech. He tilted his head and thought hard, gazing into Kyoshi's eyes. 'Life,' he thought distinctly, feeling his thought pass out of himself and go skipping across the air into the brain of his mother. He looked from her eyes to her stomach where the babies grew, as if to indicate to her what he meant.

Kiyoshi smiled at the little one. She noticed he was quite socked as one of the eggs moved a bit. She felt discomfort everytime they moved. Even just a little. She knew he didn't know what was going on. Again, a small movement come from her belly.
She laughed. "Don't be frightened. Those will be your little brothers and sisters" She said calmly, and comforting. She didn't want to make him think something bad was going to happen to her. There wasn't much going on, except the fact little ones were coming. Soon.
Her tail started to fling it's self back and forth on the ground. She looked off towards the water again, just to catch a glims of a fish jumping back into the water. She looked back down at the little one, laying there with all attention on to him. She was in deep thought. She wondered how he'd act with little siblings. She didn't think he'd act too badly, but sometimes they can get jealous. Hopefully he'll be a wonderful older brother to them. Hoping he'll teach them alot when she's not there.

Indivar looked up at Kiyoshi as she spoke to him and tilted his head in curiosity. He didn't quite understand what his mother meant by 'brothers' and 'sisters', but it sounded like something fun. And maybe good to eat! Perhaps they were especially huge berries!
The little blue-and-white Hippogriff squealed gleefully and toddled over to his mother's tail as she began to swish it around. "Krraaw!" he shrieked, chasing after the tuft of fur on the tip of her long tail. He fluttered his wings and jumped, trying to reach the tail that flicked around in the air above him.

Kiyoshi couldn't help but look over and laugh at the little one as he chases her tail. She really enjoyed little ones. They were always teaching you new things. She stood up for a second and walked by the water to get a drink. The water was nice, cool, and crispt. Ripples started going around and away from her face as she drank from the lake.
More ripples happened farther off from where she was. Another fish jumped. She pulled her head up to notice her reflection. She looked a bit chubier then she thought she did. Perhaps it was just the water, and the ripples slowly making their way away from her. Or it could be the fact that she was pregnant. She stood looking at her reflection for a few moments. What did Calamity see in her? She didn't know. She didn't look as beautiful as some of the others she's met. Leimoni was one. Kore, another and then there was also Heliacle. She sighed at the thought of them.
Oh how much she wanted to say sorry to Kore, and become good friends like they use to. It doesn't work that way though. The world was far more complicated. She didn't feel like getting sad. Quickly she looked over at Indivar and smiled down at him.

Indivar followed as his mother walked towards the lake. Sensing her distress, he snuggled against one of her forelegs and looked up at her beseechingly. "Mrrahhh?" he asked, as if asking her what he could do to make her feel better.
Looking around to find something interesting, Indivar's eyes caught sight of a duck swimming on the surface of the lake. He tilted his head and looked at it for a moment before jumping into the water himself.
Indivar was afraid for a moment as he hit the chilly lake. The water splashed up around his pudgy sides as he bounced up and down in the water. His excess of fat helped him to float easily. "Krraaaeeee!" he shrieked gleefully, grinning at his mother and flipping his feet beneath him. He moved smoothly across the water, proud at himself for figuring something out himself.

Kiyoshi smiled and walked slowly into the water and laid down in it next to her swimming little one. She thought it was quite cute. Though she didn't want him to go too far. She didn't want to lose him so young. She'd have to keep an extra eye on him.
"Careful now" she said as she watched him. She made a funny face at him. She thought she did good funny faces, and use to make Kore laugh when she did them. She looked up at the sky as a bird flew over head and quickly back down at Indivar. A slight distraction could be very bad, when around water.

Kechara twitched her ear tufts as she was disturbed in her sleep by some noise. She was having such a nice dream... she had been flying among the clouds in an endless blue sky. The wind currents ahd been perfect. But now there was something drawing her attention away from the dream.
"What is that racket?" She thought as she finally gave up on her dream. She lazily opened her eyes to see Indivar and Kiyoshi playing by the water. "That looks fun!" Kechara thought as she watched them for a little while. She had been a bit warm sleeping in the sunshine.
She bounded over to her mother clumsily and brushed against her side, rubbing her head against her lovingly. Then she promptly got into the water to join her new brother.

Indivar laughed loudly and splashed a bit as Kiyoshi made her funny face. He followed his mother's gaze as she looked up to follow the bird as it crossed the sky. His heart ached and he fluttered his wings, longing to take to the skies as easily as that bird.
Hearing a splash behind him, Indivar turned and let out a gleeful "Squaaak!" as he saw Kechara swimming behind him. He paddled his way over to his newfound sister and rubbed his head against hers lovingly.

Kiyoshi almost jumped until she noticed it was only Kechara. She sighed and looked at her caringly. She hadn't spent much time with this one, but looked almost exactly like Indivar. You'd think they were twins. Perhaps they were but were both left behind. She was glad she found them before something else did.
She splashed with her hoove bearly touching the water, not making that big of a splash. Riples were going every direction like a mad bee. She laughed and watched the two play. What darlings. She looked around again to see if there was something going on that wouldn't be good for the children. There was no one in sight. She eased up a bit and started playing with them again.
Seeing as stick floating by, she grabed it and put it down infront of both the little ones. Sticks were always fun, and she wanted to see what they thought of it. She wasn't quite sure about either one of their ages, but guess they were very young. There was many ways to help them as they grow, hopeing they'll both love her as a mother, rather think of her as some other hippogriff. To her, she was their mother. Even though she was still expecting.
"Aww! You two are the best!" She couldn't help herself say. She knew she couldn't play favorites soon enough, but right now it was an exception. They didn't really understand her anyways. She'd teach them both how to be respectful, kind, caring, and polite. Hoping someday that'll help them in their future. Even might make other hippogriffs a little brighter too.

Kechara heard something splash in the water near her and looked over to see what it was. She saw Kiyoshi smiling at her and saw the stick floating down the stream. She was confused for a minute... Why would her mother throw something weird like that at her? Well, it must be good for something if that's what Kiyoshi thought.
Kechara started to swim towards the thing, hoping to get to it before Indi did.

Indivar squawked gleefully and chased after Kechara and the stick, his little feet paddling under the water. His steering skills weren't quite perfected yet, so when he got near to Kechara he accidentally bumped into the little lavender-and-white grifflet. "Mreep!" he squeaked, rolling over onto his side in the water and then back up. Apparently his round stature and shape helped him to stay afloat. He laughed merrily and shook his head, freeing his little feathers of the droplets of water that had stuck to them.

Kiyoshi laughed at her lovely little ones. They looked like they were having fun. She couldn't wait to take them back to her nesting grounds to meet Calamity. She couldn't wait until they grew up. She giggled.
A hawk flew above, which made Kiyoshi a bit unconfortable. Hawks were known for taking the young from any creature. She didn't feel safe with one flying around. She kept an eye on the hawk and mostly on the two little ones. She didn't want anything bad to happen.
