Indivar's Story
When Indivar hatched, he found himself all alone in the woods in the valley of the Haven without anyone to care for him. For two days he was alone, weak and newborn, with only the thin layer of fat that had lined the inside of his eggshell as food.
Nearby him another Hippogriff egg hatched as he watched on weakly. It was a female, and Indivar was mildly surprised to see that her markings somewhat resembled his. The thought ran through his mind that they might have been lain by the same mother, but then he was distracted by the sight of someone approaching.
The two babies were found by an adult hippogriff, one who called herself Kiyoshi. Seeing them weak and alone (and feeling particularly touched by the little gryfflets, as she was soon to be a mother herself), Kiyoshi fed Indivar and the other newly hatched Hippogriff, Kechara, fresh berries and decided to take them in as her adoptive children.
Kiyoshi, Indivar, and Kechara moved to the valley Beneath the Clouds, where Kiyoshi rested until it was time to lay her eggs. When it was her time, she returned to her mate, Calamity, and Indivar and Kechara set off into the woods of the Haven on their own.
