The Haven is the communial center for the Hippogriffs. It is a well-hidden forest nestled within a deep valley, secured by high mountains on all sides. A single pass exits the valley, though the way is rough and trecherous to any creature that cannot fly... making it near impossible for humans to ever find the 'Griff's sanctuary.

Some Hippogriffs may choose to live in any of the ancient, strong trees that make up the forest's center. Others prefer the many caves that zig-zag deep within the mountainsides.

The weather here is temperate all year round, though at the higher mountain peaks, snowstorms are common. The forest itself is lush from the many rivers that snake through.

Though a paradise in itself, the Haven is not without its dangers. Feral creatures often find their way into the forests, and some Hippogriffs see these trespassers as the perfect chance to test their battle prowess. Though younger 'Griffs may easily become prey to a passing wolf, deadly plant, or possibly even the fabled dragon....

((Alrighty, I guess someone's gotta start this. I might as well try. sweatdrop ))

A light breeze wound its way through the Haven forest, skipping its way over one of the many streams that wound its way through the forest and dancing through the leaves that partially blocked the sun and left a dappled pattern on the forest floor. The wind followed the path of the little stream and spiraled up around the trunk of a tree, fluttering the leaves softly and ruffling the downy feathers on the head of a newly hatched Hippogriff who was nestled in the V between the two main branches of the tree. Feeling the wind on his feathers, the little blue-and-white Hippogriff awoke, blinking his beady eyes a few times and yawning with his teensy beak.

The Hippogriff baby sat up and looked weakly around him, stretching his neck and fluffing the feathers on his little wings. To the uneducated eye, the little Hippogriff would look plump and round, but to a fellow Hippogriff he would appear unnaturally skinny and small. This was because the little blue-and-white baby was an orphan. The little boy had hatched from his egg no more than two days ago, only to find himself alone in the world that seemed so large to him.

Upon looking closely, one could see the small fragments of eggshell surrounding the little hatchling. The protective fatty layer that had lined the inside of the shell was gone -- it was all that the baby Hippogriff had eaten since his hatching. He shivered as the wind blew by again and chilled him through his thin layer of feathers. If someone didn't find him and take care of him soon, the little blue baby would die.

Kiyoshi was walking around. She felt she needed to get away from the nest. Starting to gain weight was starting to frighten her. What was going on? Was this normal? She sighed. Perhaps something great was happening. Was she really going to be a mother. She smiled at that thought. She hoped she at least had one little girl.

The forest trees hung low and were everywere. Plants scattered the ground and there were accational tree stumps around. The sun was slightly poking through the gaps of the tree tops almost like water trying to make it's way through graval. She didn't notice the small little hippogriff to her left.

Seeing berries she started eating them. She was quite hungry. She was getting hungrier by the day. She really hopped nothing was wrong with her. Nothing she didn't want, that was. She closed her eyes continuing to munch on some berries

Kechara looked at her surroundings happily. It had been so cramped in the egg. What she witnessed now she found amazing. Her eyes flitted from the bright green leaves on the trees, to the soft dirt beneath her, to the wild flowers that bloomed sporadically throughout the area. Yes, the world she was born into was beautiful.

She spotted another hatched griffling that didn't look quite as content as she did though... she wandered over to see what was wrong.

Kiyoshi heard some russling in the bushes. She pooked her head up and saw two hippogriffs. Well, they were little. She smiled and looked down at them. They were both blue. She couldn't tell what sex they were yet, but they looked so adorable.

"How'd you guys get here" She asked herself. Where was their parents? She srugged and lyed down next to them. Nuzzling the male first.

Kechara was surprized at the older hippogriffs entrance, but almost immediately recovered from her shock and started to explore this new creature.

She walked around the bigger griff in circles, prodding and sniffing every so often. Satisfied with what she found, Kechara set to play with the newcomer. She backed up enough to get a running start, and then clumsily tried to leap on the other's back. She only landed halfway, but her head was close enough to the larger's that she playfully snapped at it's ear with her beak.

Kiyoshi laughed and shook her head gently. She watched the little one try to jump on her back. She pulled a branch bring some berries for the two little ones.

"My, arent you two cute?" She smiled at both of them. She turned back to the one that seemed more playful. It rememinded her of herself, when she was about that age. She gave a little giggle and started moving her tail trying to get the little one to notice it.

Indivar looked weakly up at the older Hippogriff as she nuzzled against him. He tried to smile and let out a feeble squeak. He shivered and nuzzled closer into the adult Hippogriff's warm feathers and watched as the little lavender hatchling wobbled around playfully.

Indivar's eyes widened as the older Hippogriff brought a branch covered in berries toward him. His stomach rumbled loudly and he tried feebly to reach the first real food he had seen since he had hatched. He fell over on his side weakly and let out a little cry: "Mraak!"

Kiyoshi smiled and helped the little guy up. She pushed the berries closer to him so he wouldn't have to waste much of his energy. She didn't want to let these little ones on their own. She decided that she would take them in.

Calamity would understand greatfully. She just hopes he'll actually take them in as his daugther and son, rather two adoptive childern. She watched both of the playing. She was already taking in the motherlyness love for them. How couldn't she? They were just so tiny and cute. She grabed another branch of berries and placed them by the other grifflet.

Kechara saw the other grifflet eating, and suddenly noticed that she too, was ravenous. She hadn't eaten anything since her hatching either. She let out a happy screech, and set forth on gobbling up the food.

It was the best thing she had ever tasted! (In fact, the only thing she'd ever tasted.) It wasn't too long before she had finished what was set in front of her. She wasn't stuffed, but she was content.

Kechara grew warmer as her blood started working harder to digest her meal. Feeling tired, she nuzzled up against her new care-taker, and fell fast asleep.

Indivar looked up at the grown Hippogriff greatfully and let out a little squeak of joy as he began to scarf down the berries -- the first real food he had eaten since his hatching. After eating his fill, he sat up, berry juce all over his front. He closed his eyes as he felt the energy coming back to his body.

Wobbling to his feet, he stumbled over to the adult Hippogriff and rubbed his head against her lovingly. "Mrrakk!" he squeaked softly, blinking at his newfound mother.

Kiyoshi gave a little giggle and wraped her tail around one, and put her head around the other. She was quite tired, and saw they both were too. Man, where they the perfect little ones. So cute and tiny. She couldn't just leave them here. They would die without her help.

She slowly driffted off into a very light sleep, incase something bad were to happen. She didn't want to let a little one die from her misfortune. She closed her eyes just barely, so she could still see what was going on. She quitely said "Don't worry little ones, I'll take good care of you. "
