isnt lava just melted earth? so arent fire benders able to beat earth benders easily?

that would mean that water and earth are a good team for water could cool the lava and earth can throw,again

i dont think firebenders could technically beat earthbenders b/c they can control the cooled-down lava that makes up a rock. they bend fire, not hot rocks. i think the firenation is defeating the earth kingdom b/c its made up mostly of small, spread-out villages, with all the real warriors and benders away fighting in the war.
i kinda wonder if firebenders can control lava/magma. in many ppls fanfics, they make up characters tht are magmabenders.
it may be possible that if many firebenders heated up a rock thrown at them by an earthbender, they probably could be able to bend it.

well since waterbenders can bend water from the clouds i'm sure firebenders could bend the magma. at least that's my theory

Except that in essance, lava is rock (just extreamly hot), and clouds are water (just in a vaporous form). To say that firebenders should be able to control lava is like saying airbenders should be able to control clouds.
This theory, of course, implies that firebenders could -make- lava, by blowing fire at rocks till they melted. But I still don't think they could control it...

maybe there going to show this later but it has already been shown that a fire bender can control fire from the example avatatar roku did:EP. 8 Winter solstice. plus it would also complicate the show. Its very obvious that avatar roku is just a very powerful firebender so he could have easily bended lava. plus it would complicate the show

But Avatar Roku was just that, the avatar. So if he bended (would it be bent or bended?) lava, would he have been using the fire technique, or the earth technique?
Either way though... I didn't see that eppy ;____; There's like.... 5 I haven't seen... all in book one x___x

No no no! Magma is NOT any form of fire AT ALL. It is just super hot rock. Earthbenders could bend magma, but not firebenders.

I guess they could bend lava cause remember the fire nation used the comet to start the war. Even though the comet is earth covered with fire they did bend the whole comet not just the fire around it.
