I always ask this question, and i'm not going to answer it because i can't. But i want to know other opinions...
Why does it seem like the genuinely good people in life get the problems, and hardships, and toils while those that aren't "good" persay get everything given to them on a silver platter. Like one woman who goes to church and believes in God could volunteer in her community, has two jobs and walks to both of them, goes to school, and does pure altruistic deeds (selfless deeds) and be burdened with financial hardships, depression, failed relationships, deaths, cancer, etc. There could be another woman of the same age, who goes to church and believes in God who doesn't work a job, has a car, an appt, a loving boyfriend, and a huge circle of friends and has had to deal with her parents saying "get a job" and thinking thats the worst thing int he world.
How can that be fair?
If it doesn't make sense i can explain later.

I guess I tend to be pretty opinionated, but you totally have me on that one.

God has a plan for all of us. Maybe by giving us times of need he is testing our faith to who we trust to help us in troubled times.

KittenMedli I guess I tend to be pretty opinionated, but you totally have me on that one. i can be opinionated at times, but i'm very open minded and this question has plagued me for a long time. Its one God likes to make me think about but He never actually gives me the answer. I mean i have theories, but i dunno...

A few reasons:
Good people are taken advantage of for their selfless natures. And because when things start going too well in any persons life (I believe all people are good and bad, yin yang) that person starts to take the good things that are happening to them for granted (whether they want to or not) and start doing stupid things that could classify them as a bad person.

Perhaps the "bad" lady has more friends and a boyfriend because she is a lot more interesting to most people than a super goody-goody person? To most people, people who do "bad" things are a lot more interesting than a purely good person.

Sometimes my brain just wants an answer that is black and white, even though nothing can be just black and white, there is always that grey area.

Tough question, and I have no answer.
The thing I don't like about some people who try to talk about God to others is that they sometimes make it sound like God will solve all your problems if you just turn your life over to Him. It makes it sound like you should give yourself to God just so your life will be good. I don't think that's really what God had in mind.
There are some things in the Bible that are confusing, like when it talks about asking for the things you need and you'll get them. But we all know Christians who pray to get their health back or pray for other things and don't get those things.
But there are other things, too. Jesus warned his disciples that they would have troubles when talking about Him, and He was right. Some died for him.
I don't get the thing about life's struggles, but it doesn't seem to have much to do with faith. I just don't like it when somebody has problems and is told that they must not have enough faith or their problems would be solved.
People who have lots of troubles in life but keep their faith...those are strong people.

You miss the point.
Good people are good BECAUSE of their struggles. They don't want others to suffer as they have.

Kroneland You miss the point. Good people are good BECAUSE of their struggles. They don't want others to suffer as they have. Struggles aren't that predictable. Some good people have easy lives and are good anyway. Some have tons of struggles. For those who have struggles, everyone is affected differently. Some end up in jail or full of hate, others turn adversity into as much goodness as possible. That might help us define what we think is good, but it isn't the struggle itself that makes a person good.
