Does anyone here LARP? I'm looking into starting playing with my cosiin, who plays War of Ages in the Boston Nero chapter. I'm really looking forward to getting started but I thought I'd see if there was anyone here that played too.
Well, I'll be back tomarrow. I'd stay but it's midnight... and i have to sleep on the cough because my rooms smells of spackal and primer... ewwwww!

LARP yes, NERO not anymore.
Nero by me isn't very good...bad organization and inconsistancy in event dates.
Me and a group of friends usually just gather about 50 or 60 of our fellow geeks, and then drive 3 hours to my uncle's lake (yes...his family owns the land encompasing a really really nice body of water.) It's totally surrounded by forest and has a clear open space for "Big" fights.
As for NERO...the last time I went they outright asked me to RP as Raistlin. That was when I had my Red Robes. I figure if they can put an event on a day I can go, I'll join up again, but untill then I'll just have my random adventures with my friends.

That sounds awsome!
My cosin did say a lot of people walked out one of the times he went and he didn't like it much either. So he and his friends made a time line and created there own story called Fables of Fenorra. They got it licensed and everything and he helps run it now.

Yeah, It all depends on who's running the NERO event and where its at. Some places are perfect for it...like the Ren Faire Grounds in Bristol, IL would be perfect, except NERO wont ask them to rent it for a weekend. (Thats a dumb move on their part) I know some of the people who work the faire and they all agree...LARP'ing at the Fairegrounds would be awesome! It totally would set the mood and atmosphere for the game.

I'm in CT and I read there was one in CT but my cosin does the one in Boston. Which reminds me. I went to Boston on a field trip once... and my brother told me when I'm older he'd give me a real tour of Boston... and I don't think he ment walking the freedom trail stare

Yeah, I'm in Illinois, so I wouldn't be able to make it to a CT LARP. though....it would be a fun road trip....
