So there's this awesome straight edge wrestler called CM Punk that's a really interesting character. I'm fascinated with his ring work and gimmick, so I figured I'd share. Plus, he has awesome tattoos. Wiki sez: Phil Brooks (born October 26, 1978 in Chicago, Illinois), better known by his ring name CM Punk, is an American professional wrestler currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in its ECW brand and developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling. He is the current reigning OVW Heavyweight Champion.
His straight edge gimmick reflects his lifestyle, taken to a more extreme level in the ring. As CM Punk says to his opponents, "Straight Edge means I'm drug-free, alcohol-free, and better than you!" As an inside joke to Punk's fans, asking him what "C.M." stands for yields a different answer each time. The most widely-believed theory is that Brooks was in a tag team early in his backyard wrestling years called the Chick Magnets[1], although Dave Prazak has once said it stood for Chuck Mosley. Another common belief is that the C.M stands for "Clean Made" due to his straight-edge gimmick and actual lifestyle mixed with the typical stereotype of a "punk".

yeah The Freak Shannon Morre has a mohawk which is really weird being that he was in a boyband in wcw haha.
but anyway C.M Punk is debuting on ecw next tuesday it will be sweet.
i hate test on ecw with all his cheap shots and crap sandman was going to own big and ugly lastnight but then test had to come in and double team him. Ecw has changed to much though only some of the matches are "extreme rules' which is bull.

[SkIPpY-KnIVeS] i don't mean to sound dumb, but i'm not really all that interested in wrestling, so, why's he called CM Punk? is he into punk, or is it a coincedence? He's into punk. Noone knows what the CM means. And also about Shannon Moore, I hate that a*****e. He had a nice upper midcard push in TNA (after WWE fired his a**) but he walked out of his open contract in the middle of his ******** feud to not ever show up on WWE tv and finally end up in WWECW as "The Reject". Dude, ******** him.

Gimmick refers to a wrestler's in ring character. Examples of this would be Hurricane was a superhero wrestler and John Cena as a white rapper. CM Punk's gimmick is that he's straight edge, and he's actually straight edge so it's just using something that he actually is to get a reaction.

Haha, that would be terrible. The WWE recently implemented a wellness policy that'd pretty strict about suspending people for stuff like that. A lot of people think that this is an advantage for CM Punk to get his name out there and not be suspended because supposedly he's a hard worker who hates steroids and whatnot. Anyway, the guy's awesome.
